Where can I park at the Royal Glenora Club (RGC)?

Please park in the lot closest to the High Level Bridge. It is to the right as you
turn off River Valley Road. The Royal Glenora parking lot is reserved primarily
for members.
Q.2
How do I gain admission to the RGC?

On Sunday, April 12th ( Volunteer Orientation) from 3:30 to 5:30 pm the
volunteer registration desk will be located at the Social Entrance. This entrance
is just to the east of the Member Entrance. The volunteer registration package
will include a personalized volunteer name tag.
From Sunday, April 19 th to Saturday, April 25th admission will be from the
Member Entrance. Please show your name tag to the reception desk.
Volunteer name tags may also be picked up in the Volunteer Center in the
Worlds Room beginning April 19th.
Those without a name tag will be asked to sign in at reception.

Where do I check in for my shift?

The Worlds Room on the second floor near the Lounge and the Pool will be
Volunteer Central during the tournament. This is where you sign in before your
shift and where you you can bring any questions or issues about your volunteer
activities.

When do I wear my volunteer shirt and name tag?

Please wear your volunteer shirt & name tag whenever you are on shift duty.
This helps participants & guests to identify volunteers when they are looking for
help or have some questions about the Club, the tournament or the City.
Q.5Can I use the Men’s and Women’s locker room?

Yes. These locker rooms are located just west of the badminton courts. The
family and all-ages locker rooms can also be used. These locker rooms are
located towards the aquatics area and off the skating centre (see map).

Is there a locker I can use?

No. All lockers are currently used by Royal Glenora Club (RGC) members.

Where can I store my coat or purse?

There is an unsupervised coat check near the Social entrance. Coats may also
be left in the locker rooms. Probably best to take purses and other valuables
with you.

Where can I get something to eat at the RGC?

All food outlets are on the 2nd floor of the RGC. There is a cafeteria above the
tennis court area. There is a lounge above the badminton court area. There is a
patio and dining area above the pool. (see map)

Can I bring my own food to eat while I'm at the RGC?

No. RGC policy does not allow outside food at the RGC.

Where can I find information about the tournament and answers to questions
participants are likely to ask ( e.g., where to practice, shuttle schedule from the
RGC to the host hotel, finding draw information)

competitors under the Athlete Services tab. There are also tabs for information

Does the RGC have Wi-Fi? Can I use it?

Yes. The network is called “Royal Glenora”. As a guest of the RGC you can
access this network. The password is “royalglenora”.

If an issue with the facility at the RGC ( e.g., towel shortage, slippery courts,
blocked plumbing, food & beverage service, etc.) is identified during my shift,
whom do I speak too?

Bring the matter to the attention of volunteers staffing the Volunteer Center in
the World’s Room. They will have a list of contacts within the Club’s
Management to pass the information on to They will also keep a list of the
types of concerns identified and how they were resolved.

Is there a recommended cab company to call or how do I get a cab to the RG
Club?

Yes. Yellow Cab will provide participants with a flat rate from the RGC to the
host hotel as well as other destinations. If you require a cab, please ask the
RGC reception or member services to call a Yellow Cab for you. Phone:

Where do I get help if someone is injured?
A.12
If the situation appears to be a medical emergency - call 911.
If the person appears to require medical attention contact the life guards in the
pool area or an RGC staff member. The RGC has many First Aid-trained staff to
assist when something goes wrong. RGC staff is trained to a maximum of
(ILCOR approved) Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED. As lay First-Aiders, it
is not within the scope of our training to apply antibiotic creams or treatments
or give any other medications. If medications have been prescribed, we can
assist only; we cannot administer. In the case of injuries, we simply clean (if

required) and protect from further injury. If an illness or injury appears serious,
you will always be advised to seek medical treatment. It is our procedure to
contact EMS on your behalf if the situation dictates. Any incident requiring
treatments beyond our level of training will be referred to the appropriate
