Terms and Conditions
All service agreements start May 1st and end April 30th of the following year.
•Heating plans are valid only if McComas Fuel supplies all the oil.
•Any pre-existing conditions will be serviced at prevailing rates.
•Acceptance of your equipment under this agreement is subject to inspection by our service
technicians and contingent upon the purchase of all of your fuel requirements from McComas
Fuel Company.
•McComas Fuel Company reserves the right to not renew if changes of wiring or additional
controls are required in order to provide dependable operation.
•The coverage and renewal of these services are conditioned on an account balance that is
within our credit limits.
•Terms of payment are subject to approval by our credit department. After credit is approved,
all bills are to be paid upon receipt of statement. Any payments that exceed twenty-five days
or delinquent budget payments automatically cuts off automatic delivery and credit
privileges.
•The customer agrees to pay $35.00 fee for each returned check.
•McComas Fuel Company’s accountability for the replacement of parts is based on the
availability of such parts. All equipment covered by policy must remain accessible.
• This agreement does not cover service rendered or parts supplied because of damage by
water, fire, acts of God, accident, tampering, abuse, or vandalism, and will not cover any
secondary damage due to oil leakage, malfunction, or failure of equipment.
•This agreement does not cover plumbing or obsolete parts. Exclusions include, but are not
limited to: welding or cutting oil tank, low-water cut-off, water leaks, steam vents, steel or
specially designed combustion chambers, circulator and draining expansion tank. Any parts
not listed under agreement are excluded.
•Service calls not covered and billed at prevailing rates are: emergency switch found to be in
off position, thermostat set below room temperature, aquastat not set to proper temperature,
and bleeding radiators.
•A charge will be made to start the burner if a Will Call customer or Delinquent Credit Account
allows tank to run dry. Sufficient notice must be given on Will Call or Collection Deliveries.
•We will leave or mail our printed oil delivery ticket which customer agrees to accept as
evidence of the quantity delivered, without the necessity of our obtaining a written receipt for
any delivery , unless other procedures have been agreed upon in advance.Written notice must
be given for cancellation of automatic deliveries.
•Air Conditioning Plans cover systems up to 5 tons.
•Under A/C agreement, it is the customer’s responsibility to be sure all switches are on,
thermostat is set to desired setting, clock on chronotherm is set to proper time, and air filters
are changed frequently.
•Air Conditioning Service will be performed during normal business hours (7:30 a.m. - 4:00
p.m. M-F).
•Your right to this agreement expires at the end of each covered year. We will not issue any
credit for any unused portion of this agreement.
•This agreement is not a warranty or guarantee that your heating/air conditioning system will
operate without defect or failure.
•This agreement automatically renews at our prevailing rate at the end of its period unless
either party cancels it.
• McComas will pay up to $1,000 towards the replacement of your above ground tank, once
tested and qualified for the TankSure® Program, if a tank leak occurs subsequent to this test
due to internal corrosion, a tank leak occurs due to a manufacturer’s defect, or a non-leaking
tank is identified for proactive replacement. While we cannot guarantee that a leak will not
occur or your tank will not fail after testing, we are providing these new services with the hope
that by testing and monitoring, we are offering a long-term proactive tank replacement
program for our customers. Accidental damage is not covered by the TankSure® Program. The
TankSure® Program does not cover environmental clean up, property damage, waste disposal
services, or other damages or losses caused by a tank leak or system failure even if the tank has
been tested and qualified ultrasonically and is enrolled in the TankSure® Program.
•This plan does not cover buried storage tanks and/or piping.
•Plans do not include coverage or service related to, or arising from, any “Peak Rewards”
hardware installed by Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) either inside or outside.

Heating oil tanks typically corrode from the inside
out. Your tank may look perfectly fine from the
outside, but it could be wearing excessively thin.
The testing (similar to a medical ultrasound) will
allow us to give you a sense of security or advance
warning that a problem is on the horizon.
