Being warm and cozy is a top priority for this guy. He also loves belly rubs and will come rest his head in your lap and look up at you, asking for some gentle pets. He would do best in a home without small children or cats. If you are interested in this cool dude, give us a call to find out more! Good things come in small packages! Sade is a very cute 1-year-old girl who is a light and tiny five pounds of adorable kitty. She is very mellow and easy going. She would love to find a forever home where she will get the love and attention she deserves. When she came to us she had an open wound on her neck, so she is missing some fur, but it will grow back. Adopt Sade, and you will have a cute kitten-sized cat for life! She is adorable! Meet Sade and other adoptable MCPAWS cats. Happy Tail Stories that make our tails wag! An update on our man Opey from his wonderful forever family: Thursday, May 7, 2015 is Idaho's statewide 24-hour day of giving! Every year on one amazing day, people across our state come together for Idaho nonprofits. It's a day to celebrate the awesome work of Idaho’s nonprofits and benefit from the power of many. Idaho comes together—be a part of it! Donate to MCPAWS on May 7th, and watch your donation S T R E T C H! The more individual donations we receive, the more likely we are to win prize money! Want to donate early? You can! Your donation will still count: click here to donate. On February 4th of this year, we adopted Opey. Our dog Deputy passed away last September after spending 15 years being the fur-baby love of our lives. We went through a period of mourning and felt like we would never be able to love another dog, or be able to get over the grief we felt in our hearts. We learned about Opey, the big black dog with loads of energy who had resided at MCPAWS for over a year. He had already been adopted twice to what were supposed to be "forever homes" only to be returned to MCPAWS within a couple days. After we learned about Opey and his situation, my husband John turned to me and said "You know we have to go help Opey. It seems like he needs me." Free Cat Fridays! MCPAWS is the proud recipient of a $1,000 Purina Cat Chow grant through the Petfinder Foundation. These grant funds are to be used to supplement free and reduced cat adoption fees. We are offering free cats (over 6 months old) on Fridays. So, we went to MCPAWS. We filled out the adoption application. The MCPAWS staff filled us in on Opey's history, and we were able to meet him. We felt like we were up for the challenge. Eventually we were able to bring Opey home. Upon arriving at our home, we discovered that Opey was like a 100 pound puppy. We spent a many sleepless nights during those first few days. Opey has begun to learn about boundaries. He has an insatiable curiosity and a huge desire to please. He goes for long walks with us each day, but always checks behind himself to be sure we are close by. He loves to watch TV, and appears to know exactly what he is watching. His favorite program is "The Dog Whisperer." We have been watching since they day he came home with us. We have all learned a lot. Opey is totally devoted to my husband and I. He sits close by and carefully observes all of the repair work or projects my husband does around the house. I'd like to thank the people at MCPAWS who give their time and love to the animals who live there. They are wonderful, caring people who are angels in our eyes. We love our Opey. Thank you MCPAWS! ResQWalk Use your paws for a cause! Each week ResQwalk announces a donation pool (e.g. $2,500) and in order for a rescue to receive donations from the pool, its supporters simply need to check-in to the app when they go for a walk. You can select MCPAWS as your shelter! Download the app today and hit the streets! Each walker's distance is recorded in the user profile and added to the rescue's weekly sum. At the end of the week donations are paid out to the rescues proportionally to the total distance walked. Join the MCPAWS Book Club Come join the MCPAWS Book Club!
