CRAFT BEER PROGRAM
Starting in March we will pour two different featured craft beers every

Tournament Escrow Account
In October there will be a season ending golf tournament called “THE
MEADOWBROOK CUP”. This event will be structured similarly to the
RYDER CUP with competitions using different formats. The field will be
comprised of exempt members who have accumulated points from previous
competitions and tournaments. After these spots are filled the field will be
open to non-exempt Members on a first come first serve basis.
The “TOURNAMENT ESCROW ACCOUNT” will be used to offset the
expenses involved in “THE MEADOWBROOK CUP”. The escrow
account will be developed from entry fees paid from ALL Club sponsored
events throughout the 2015 season. Part of each entry fee will be used to
help reduce the amount of any entry fee that would be necessary to ensure a
quality competition.

event dates are listed below. The “minor” events, or as they are sometimes
referred to, “fun events” (no pressure) are a great way to meet new people and
play golf using different formats and competitions.

The winter “off season” is the perfect time to have your golf clubs re-gripped.
Players tend to grip their clubs too tightly when their grips are worn and slick.
This creates tension in the set up resulting in short, fast, and choppy golf
swings. The end results are errant shots and poor scores.
During March the Golf Shop is offering 2 FREE
Grips when you install a full set of 13 grips, ANY
style (you’ll pay for 11 grips).
Turn-around time can be as fast as one day depending on what day you leave
your clubs for re-gripping. This offer applies to full sets only.
Congratulations, John Hall, who won the drawing for guessing the
correct hole of our Golf Display. Members who guessed correctly were
placed in a drawing for (2) Complimentary Buffet Tickets!

On each tee box BEFORE all 4 players tee off the
CAPTAIN designates which of the players will be
playing their “own ball” after the selected best tee
shot of the four.
That person will use the best tee shot of the 4 and
play their own ball using applicable strokes (their net
score full handicaps will be used).
The other 3 players will play a 3-man Captain’s
Choice on the same hole using the best tee shot of
the 4.
The team score will be the better of 2 scores.
“A” and “B” players will play 4 holes using their
“own ball”.
“C” and “D” players will play 3 holes using their
“own ball”.
The TEAM CAPTAIN will decide who will play
their own ball on the remaining 4 holes…it could be
one hole for each player or the same person on all 4
… “CAPTAIN’S CHOICE”!!

MARCH MADNESS
This March, to celebrate the NCAA Tournament, MCC will have a month
long single elimination tasting tournament with YOU as the judge. Each
Tasting Pairing will cost only $4, and your votes will help us select the
winning wine, which we will feature at a special price throughout the month
of April. The tasting pairings are set for the first round, but only you can
decide which wine will move on to be our Champion.

message may have contained references to individuals that were a bit too vague. For the
February communiqué I tried to be a little less obscure with my name associations.
However, it is not as much fun to use real names. Also, I don’t want the membership to

would be an excellent tool, we do have other equipment

them. And finally, thatching is the closest thing to
shaving that we do. However, we do not require much

thatch producers. I would classify our grass removal as
more depilatory in nature as opposed to shaving.”
Bird Dog: “I understand. It’s like a bad comb-over. Rather than cutting the hair, you
mash it down, flatten it out and try to cover things up.”
Chairman Wisegarbage: “On that note, meeting
adjourned.”
Mort: “I see people every day that must use rollers on their heads.”
Lois Hitsitstrate: “Gentlemen, rollers can have different meanings. I know many ladies
who use rollers to build body in their hair.”

and worn that we are concerned about them being available for this golf season. One unit
has over 6000 hours of run time.”
Bird Dog: “Wow, now we’ve gone from comb-overs to exfoliation.”
Hamburger: “So the bunker rake is sort of like a loofah?”
Mort: “Judge Smail’s wife liked to use a loofah.”
Lois Hitsitstrate: “Well even sand traps need a good loofah from time to time.”
Hamburger: “Bird Dog, that is profound, do you own a boat?”

Thank you to all who came to the February Wine Club, and special thanks to
Cheryl and Melissa, who by all reports did a fantastic job in my absence. Please
allow me the opportunity to thank these two publicly because without them, and
their help, I am not sure I could continue making Club de Vin what it is to all of us.

There is so much work and preparation
that goes on behind the scenes and I so
appreciate all they do in support; and keep in mind these two are not (yet) even
members of Meadowbrook Country Club! (Hey, maybe we should “comp” our
Membership Director a wine tasting to seek out these two prospective members!)
Anyway, we are so excited that 2015 has been extremely well attended and the
Wino of the Year race is off to a great start with some surprising new winos in the
forefront of the race. And more importantly, we have a lot of wonderful events
