Measham Museum This month’s submission is a WWI Kitchener poster; normally sporting the ‘Your County Needs You Message’ but specially adapted by the Museum for this month’s issue. See below:- NB: The Museum’s Annual General Meeting will be held at the Museum on Friday 24th April at 2.00pm. All are welcome. The Museum would also like to put an appeal out regarding a toy cow. During the Measham Memories session a toy cow was recalled that resided in the toy cupboard at the Infant School in the 1950’s. It was brought out as a treat if a pupil had been good. Apparently if you moved it’s head it mooed, which I am sure in that decade was a novel thing for a toy. Museum staff are wondering what happened to this toy and ask anyone with any information to pop in to the Museum and let staff know or alternatively call Stuart Perkins on 01530 271724. Age Concern Age Concern are once again appealing for knitters to join in this year’s Big Knit to raise funds. Little hats are required to sit on smoothie bottles and Innocent drinks will donate 25p for each hat/bottle purchased in supermarkets at the beginning of 2016. The simple knitting pattern is online at www.ageuk.org.uk/leics or by calling 0116 2237344. (Continued on page 6) Page 6 MEASHAM MESSENGER (Continued from page 5) Knitted hats need to reach Age UK Leicestershire & Rutland (Ref: BDM), Lansdowne House, 113 Princess Road East, Leicester, LE1 7LA by the end of September.
