Building Inclusive Businesses and Organisations Funding Application Guidelines Applications for grants of up to $500 are invited from businesses or community organisations to assist them to: Increase the number of people with a disability as customers, members or employees; or Support customers, members or employees by providing accessible and inclusive services, information or environments. To be eligible for a grant, a business or community organisation must: Be located in the East Gippsland Shire. Develop a plan listing intended actions (see details below). Work in partnership with the Rural Access Project Officer Applicants will be required to contribute to the proposal either financially or by providing other in-house resources. Priority will be given to proposals which: Demonstrate a genuine commitment to improving access and inclusion of people with a disability; or Provide an ongoing impact on increasing the number of people with a disability as customers, visitors or employees; or Provide an accessible and inclusive service, information or environment for customers, members of employees. The funding for the grants is being provided by Rural Access - East Gippsland Shire Council. Examples of Proposals Undertake a process to develop a Disability Action Plan. Undertake a process to obtain the Communication Access symbol for your business or organisation. Make some alterations to your premises to provide improved access for employees, customers or visitors. Deliver disability awareness training to your staff or members. Provide information to your customers in different formats (e.g. large print, pictures, audio or electronic formats). Deliver a program or service that is accessible and inclusive. 1 Plan Listing Intended Actions This plan does not need to be complicated. All that is required is a list of intended actions be included in your application (see Application Form). Criteria for Allocation of Grants All funding applications will be assessed against the following criteria: Genuine commitment to improving access and inclusion for people with a disability. Ongoing impact on increasing the number of people with a disability as customers, members or employees. Genuine commitment to providing an accessible and inclusive service, information or environment for customers, visitors or employees Located within the East Gippsland Shire. Demonstrate the actions can be completed by 30th June 2016 and provide evidence of the completed action/s. Applicants are required to partner with the Rural Access Project Officer. Any legally constituted body may act as an auspice. The auspice organisation will agree to receive any funds allocated and is responsible for the management of the project and the acquital of grant funds. It is recommended that applicants have a clear written agreement with the auspice organisation. Why an auspice? Many groups applying for funds may not have the need to be incorporated to meet the needs of their project/s. Roles and Responsibilities of Auspice Agenices The auspice agency listed is fully responsible for the managemengt of all apsects of the funded project including: Receipt, banking and administration of all monies; Project Monitoring; Providing the required evidence at the completion of the project; Project Completion. 5 Grant Auspice Request (complete if an orgnaisation has agreed for your project to be under its auspices).
