Cineplex offers Canadians the chance to win
fame, fans and free movies for a year
Toronto, ON, May 29, 2015 (TSX: CGX) – Think you have the chops to host the Cineplex Pre-Show?
Here’s your chance to prove it. Creating a simple YouTube video could land you the dream job of
introducing blockbuster movies on the big screen all across Canada for an entire year.
Following its inaugural success in 2014, Cineplex kicks-off its second annual Casting Call contest on
Friday, May 29, 2015. The winner will become co-host of the Cineplex Pre-Show – a one-of-a-kind show
that offers theatre guests truly exclusive movie content, branded client content, advertising, and
TimePlay. The Cineplex Pre-Show appears before the movie in more than 160 theatres, from coast-tocoast.
To enter, contestants are asked to submit a two minute audition video explaining why they’d make the
best host of the Cineplex Pre-Show. Enter at Cineplex.com/CastingCall – until Thursday, June 25.
Contestants must be a SCENE member to submit an audition video. Cineplex will select 10 finalists from
the initial auditions – and then turn the decision over to movie fans, who can vote for their favourite
finalist on the contest website between June 30 and July 20.
The three finalists with the most votes will move on to the final round of the competition, which will
include challenges like hosting a video, or moderating a discussion on Cineplex’s social media channels.
The winning contestant will be selected by a panel of Cineplex judges, including the winners of last
year’s Casting Call contest.
“We were incredibly impressed by the quality of submissions received from Canadian movie fans in

Entertainment. “We look forward to seeing how contestants’ passion for the movies shine through
again in this year’s contest.”
The Pre-Show Casting Call contest will focus its messaging to three main channels - the Cineplex PreShow, websites, and social media channels.
In addition to ultimate bragging rights, the winner of this year’s contest will receive free movies for one
year, as well as the chance to host the Cineplex Pre-Show, and contribute to Cineplex’s online blog and
social channels. And even if you don’t claim the hosting position, there’s still lots of chances to win –
with special prizing for an early bird entry, runners-up, and even for voting.
