NEW FESTIVAL OF INDOOR PERFORMANCE AND WORKSHOPS TAKES TO THE STAGE IN
GREAT YARMOUTH
The In Here Festival: 7 – 23 May
Gladiators, seals and acrobats all take to the stage in a new programme of indoor
performance, circus and workshops from SeaChange Arts this May.
Over three weeks, the organisation behind the Out There Festival hope to take a little of that
magic and mayhem indoors.
“We’ll be showcasing some of our own work,” explains Becca Clayton of SeaChange Arts,
“plus some produced by our partners at London’s Battersea Arts Centre and Crying Out Loud.
The programme will take people into some fine old buildings across our blossoming cultural
quarter and also provide plenty of hands-on opportunities for both local people and
emerging artists.”
The festival kicks off with an acrobatics workshop on Thursday 7 May at the Drill House and
Teeterboard masterclass, hosted by Lost in Translation Circus from 9-11 May.
St. George’s Theatre hosts Bromance by Barely Methodical Troupe on Saturday 9 May. A
part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival programme, the trio of dynamic acrobats celebrate
all things ‘blokey’ with jaw-dropping balance, physical feats and astounding acrobatics.
Much of SeaChange’s work involves developing new shows and there will be an exclusive
chance to see one of their latest productions on Saturday 9 May as Dizzy O’Dare present a
preview showing of Wires, a new tightwire performance created in part at SeaChange’s Drill
House.
Aspiring wirewalkers will also get the chance to join Dizzy O’Dare in a special introductory
workshop on Sunday 10 May.
SeaChange’s Cook-Up takes to St. George’s park on Saturday 16 May and will see some
recycled creativity in a number of drop-in family activities. The annual Drill House Open Day,
on Sunday 17 May offers visitors the chance to try out parkour, circus and other activities.

SeaChange’s partnership with the Collaborative Touring Network, headed by Battersea Arts
Centre, brings a trio of innovative new theatre shows to the town. On Wednesday 20 May
local schools will get to be a part of The Adventure at Yarmouth’s historic Tolhouse Museum.
In this fantastic interactive theatre piece, the audience join the cast to crack a fiendishly
puzzling mystery.
Ridley Scott’s epic movie Gladiator gets a Blue Peter style makeover in Gloriator - a hilarious
sword and sandal epic made from cardboard on Thursday 21 May. While on Saturday 23
May, Lorraine and Alan, is a quirky, modern retelling of the Orkneys’ Selkie myth, set in
Blakeney.
