Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders. CANTERBURY AREA STOUR STREET, CANTERBURY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 To allow safe access to underground structures for cabling works to provide a new phone service, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stour Street, Canterbury. An off-peak closure is planned for Tuesday 21 April 2015 between 09:30 hours and 15:30 hours. Stour Street will be closed between the junctions with Hospital Lane and Beer Cart Lane. The alternative route is via Rosemary Lane, Castle Street, A28 Pin Hill, Rhodaus Town, Watling Street and Beer Cart Lane. WESTBERE LANE, WESTBERE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Because of works to provide a new water connection, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Westbere Lane, Westbere, Canterbury. A closure is planned to commence from 20 April 2015 for an estimated period of up to 5 days. Westbere Lane will be closed in the vicinity of number 6, with no through access between Staines Hill and Church Lane. The alternative route is via Westbere Lane, A28 Staines Hill, Island Road and Bushy Hill Road. Due to the nature of these works, it will not be possible to re-open the road outside the working hours. WICK LANE, WOOLAGE GREEN & FIRS ROAD, WOMENSWOLD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Because of cable works in connection with the installation of fibre-optic broadband, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Wick Lane, Woolage Green and Firs Road, Womenswold (Canterbury area). Phased closures are planned to commence from 20 April 2015 for an estimated period of up to 2 weeks. Wick Lane, Woolage Green and Firs Road, Womenswold will be closed in phases from the A2 as far as the junction with Forstal Road / Woolage Green Road, with no through access at any time. The alternative routes are Westbound (towards A2) via B2046 Adisham Road, Snowdown Road, Nethersole Road and Forstal Road Eastbound (from A2) via A2 Dover Road, Westcourt Road, Westcourt Lane and Woolage Green Road Due to the nature of these works, it will not be possible to re-open the road outside the working hours. DOVER AREA A258 DEAL ROAD, ST MARGARET’S AT CLIFFE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Because of carriageway resurfacing works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A258 Deal Road, St Margaret’s at Cliffe, Dover. Overnight closures are planned for the nights of Thursday 23 & Friday 24 April and Monday 27 April 2015. Closures will be between 20:00 hours through until 05:00 hours each night (up to 9 hours per night). A258 Deal Road will be closed between A2 Duke of York’s Roundabout and the junction with The Lane (near Swingate Inn). ~ There will be no direct access between Dover and Deal using the A258 during these works ~ The alternative route is via A2 Trunk Road, A256 Whitfield Bypass, Eastry Bypass, Sandwich Road, A258 Deal Road, Sandwich Road (Hacklinge Hill), London Road, Queen Street, Broad Street, Beach Street, Deal Castle Road, (Victoria Road and Ranelagh Road in opposite direction due to one-way system), The Strand, Dover Road and Deal Road A258 LONDON ROAD, SHOLDEN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Because of carriageway resurfacing works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A258 London Road, Sholden, Deal. Overnight closures are planned to commence from Wednesday 6 May 2015 for up to 3 nights, between 19:00 hours through until 02:00 hours each night. A258 London Road, Sholden will be closed between the junctions with Mongeham Road and Manor Road. ~ There will be no direct access between Deal and Sandwich using the A258 ~ The alternative route is via A258 Sandwich Road (Hacklinge Hill), London Road, Queen Street, Broad Street, Beach Street, Deal Castle Road, (Victoria Road and Ranelagh Road in opposite direction due to one-way system), The Strand, Dover Road, Deal Road, Duke of York Roundabout, A2 Trunk Road, A256 Whitfield Bypass, Eastry Bypass, Sandwich Road and A258 Deal Road. ALKHAM ROAD, KEARSNEY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Because of carriageway resurfacing works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alkham Road, Kearsney (Temple Ewell), Dover. Overnight closures are planned to commence from Monday 20 April 2015 for up to 4 nights, between 19:00 hours through until 05:00 hours each night. All noisy works will be completed by midnight. Alkham Road will be closed to through traffic between Bushy Ruff and the junction with Lower Road. ~ During these closures, there will be no direct access between Folkestone and Dover using the Alkham Valley ~ The alternative route is via Alkham Valley Road, A260 Canterbury Road, Hill Road, B2011 Dover Hill, New Dover Road, Folkestone Road, A256 York Street, then for Dover Bound Traffic Priory Road, High Street, London Road (in opposite direction via Buckland Avenue, Barton Road, Frith Road, Charlton Green, Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road, Biggin Street and Priory Street due to one-way system in Dover), Crabble Hill, London Road and Alkham Road. GROVE ROAD, PRESTON (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Because of works to provide a new electricity supply, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grove Road, Preston (Dover Area). A closure is planned to commence from Monday 27 April 2015 for an estimated period of up to 5 days. Grove Road will be closed to the west of the industrial estate, with no through access at any time, whilst the road is closed. The alternative route is via Stourmouth Road, Preston Road, The Street (Stourmouth), Plucks Gutter, Gore Street, A253 Ramsgate Road, A28 Island Road, Grove Ferry Hill, Grove Ferry Road and Grove Road. Due to the nature of these works, it will not be possible to re-open the road outside the working hours. VARIOUS ROADS, SHEPHERDSWELL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Because of cable works in connection with the installation of fibre-optic broadband, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on various roads in Shepherdswell, Dover. Phased closures are planned to commence from 4 May 2015 for an estimated period of up to 2 weeks. EYTHORNE ROAD, SHEPHERDSWELL closed in 2 phases, between the junctions with Church Hill and Station Road, then between the junctions with Station Road and The Glen Tuesday 5 May for up to 5 weekdays; the road will be fully re-opened on Polling Day, Thursday 7 May Alternative route via Shepherdswell Road, Shooters Hill, Chapel Hill, Coldred Road and Church Hill Access to the Railway Station will be maintained from one or other direction, as signposted on site. CHURCH HILL and MILL LANE, SHEPHERDSWELL closed from the junction with Coxhill Road / Eythorne Road eastwards to the one-way section of Mill Lane This closure follows on from the one above, for up to 5 weekdays Alternative route via Eythorne Road, Great Haynes and Mill Lane Due to the nature of these works, it may not be possible to re-open the road outside the working hours. GRAVESHAM AREA NORTHFLEET GREEN ROAD, NORTHFLEET, GRAVESEND (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Because of a water main connection, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Northfleet Green, Northfleet, Gravesend, on or after 20th April 2015 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed. The road will be closed from Northfleet Green to Hazels Farm. The alternative route is via Northfleet Green, New Barn Road, Broad Ditch Road and Downs Road. ALL SAINTS ROAD, NORTHFLEET, GRAVESEND (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ONE WAY ORDER 2015 Because of undertaking casualty reduction measures scheme, Kent County Council intends to make a One Way Order prohibiting through traffic on All Saints Road, Northfleet, Gravesend, on or after 5th May 2015 for up to 4 nights or until the works have been completed between the hours of 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs. The road will be closed from the junction with Perry Street. There will be no alternative route as the One Way Order will be suspended during the night to allow for two way traffic. No parking cones will be used in some places to allow vehicles to pass. THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984 (TRAFFIC CALMING – PERRY STREET, GRAVESEND) NOTICE is hereby given that the Kent County Council, as local traffic authority, and after consultation with the chief officer of police, proposes to install a system of Traffic Calming (raised table junction and road hump) under Section 92 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all their enabling powers, as follows: 1. MAIDSTONE AREA CHURCH ROAD, TOVIL, SYMONDS LANE & MILL LANE, YALDING AND YELSTED LANE, BOXLEY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Because of carriageway works, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Church Road, Tovil, Symonds Lane & Mill Lane, Yalding and Yelsted Lane, Boxley, as per the schedule below. The road will be closed between Bank Lane and Underriver House Road. The alternative route is via Carters Hill, Underriver House Road and vice versa. This route however is not suitable to HGVs. EGGPIE LANE, SEVENOAKS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Due to a new connection to a property, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Eggpie Lane, Leigh, Sevenoaks, on or after 4th May 2015 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed. The road will be closed outside Brookside Barn. The alternative route is via Scabharbour Road, Coppings Road, Philpots Lane, Eggpie Lane. MAIN ROAD, SUNDRIDGE, SEVENOAKS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2015 Because of installation of a new gully and carriageway patching, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Main Road, Sundridge, Sevenoaks, on or after 20th April 2015 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed between the hours 09:30hrs to 15:30hrs. The road will be closed from the slip road/service road between the numbers of 70 to outside of 50 and 52. Due to the slip road being closed there is no need for an alternative route.
