The first Christmas 2015 collections have arrived, with Holiday Magic first in the door. Jan Shade Beach is an
accomplished artist who works from her “Made in the Shade” studio near Huntsville, Alabama. Her designs appear on products ranging from full Christmas lines to party
ware, gift bags and boxes, greeting cards, gift wrap at stores
such as Kohl’s and Target. This collection features traditional holiday images - reindeer, snowmen, ornaments, sleds
and more -- in shades of red and gray to stunning effect.
Both the reindeer & trees
are wearing sweaters.

images -- each 7” square.

The Frosty the Snowman TV special dates back to 1969,
while the original recording of the song by Gene Autry
goes back further, to1950. But the Frosty in the Silly
Snowman collection isn’t showing his age, with that big
cheerful smile. The quilt finishes to 44 1/2” by 54”.
SPECIAL LARGE PALAMPORE PANEL
The name “palampore” means bedspread or coverlet.
These extraordinarily large cotton panels with their
vividly-colored, life-sized flowering trees were coveted
for their beauty and as a status symbol. It combines
an elaborate design depicting a wide variety of plants,
flowers and birds. The “tree of life” motif is typical of
most palampores and is used as a symbol to celebrate
birth, marriage and special occasions.
This reproduction palampore is drawn from a vintage
example of a very popular and fine type of fabric from
the 18th century, when an investment in fabric of this
quality was a sign of wealth and success, with families
displaying them prominently as curtains, wall-hangings
or bed coverings. It comes from the extensive archives
of Mary Koval, and accompanies her Tree of Life collection. Just add backing (5 1/2 yards) and binding -you’ll have a unique and beautiful quilt.
This palampore panel measures 47” by 87”.
The Knitting Sheep sold out almost immediately last month. We now have more in stock,
but may not be able to re-order again, so if
you want some....
These spectacular panels won’t last long, so
don’t hesitate. We just added binding and backing to ours, and it’s been a big hit wherever
we’ve shown it.
The Christmas Splendor collection starts with
beautiful red poinsettias, then adds paisleys,
plaids and elegant scrolls. The three kits make
perfect gifts or decorations. The panel quilt at
right is 42” by 62”.

Artist Jane Shasky uses her art to celebrate the flowers,
birds and wildlife surrounding her home in Washington
state. She pays great attention to color and texture, painting beautifully detailed watercolors that capture the peace
of the garden, no matter what the season. You’ll find her
work on a wide range of products -- calendars, stationery,
fabrics, greeting cards and more. Her Harvest Botanical
collection focuses on autumn.
