Winner
FFP’s paper effect packaging won three awards
in the European Flexographic Technical
Association (EFTA) awards in 2008. The effect
produces a superb, deli-bag appearance ideal for
a wide range of goods. Production efficiency on
the packaging line is not affected. The effect can
be achieved with a single ply or a laminate.

The Bake Perfect Bag (to give it its Birds Eye brand
name) makes a perfect fish meal simplicity itself,
straight from freezer to oven!
The striking and innovative packs for freezer-to-oven
fish portions are constructed from a strip metallised
PET/PET laminate and form an integral part of a
major European product launch for Birds Eye/Iglo,
called in the UK ‘Simply Bake to Perfection’. Selfventing and ready to cook, the result is succulent
and delicious food, with no need to handle the fish.
Re-sealable polythene laminate
Standards
An adhesive layer within a polythene laminate opens a world of possibilities for
recloseable/resealable packs from prepared meats and cheese to confectionery. The inner
laminate layer ruptures as the pack is opened, revealing the adhesive layer which then forms
the pack closure.

Estersteam
Estersteam’s unique implosion-proof steam valve
releases during microwave cooking to deliver
moist, succulent, great-tasting food. Delivered
either on a reel to run on VFFS or standard lidding
equipment, or pre-applied to a stand-up pouch,
Estersteam adds value, quality and convenience to
microwave steam cookery.
