scheduling as appropriate.
Salary:
$25,000 - $30,000 (Salary determined by candidate’s experience and
qualifications.)

JOB SUMMARY:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves as Mental Health America’s (MHA) liaison with Sheboygan County schools, students,
and human service agencies serving youth.
2. Serves as an educator by providing educational presentations on mental health topics to
children, adolescents, and young adults.
3. Advocates for the mental health needs of county residents with a special emphasis on issues
related to youth. Will be involved in the assessment of needs and services on a local, state, and
national level.
4. Serves as a consultant for schools and agencies on issues related to mental health.
5. Provides information and confidential referrals for people of all ages.
6. Serves as MHA’s representative on a variety of committees that address mental health issues.
7. Arranges in-service programming on an annual basis for school counselors and support staff
on topics relevant to the mental health needs of elementary, middle school, and high school
students.
9. Develops flyers, press releases, and public service announcements for the promotion of MHA
programs and services.
10. Coordinates all facets of MHA’s information booth at the Sheboygan County Fair which
takes place over Labor Day weekend.
11. Represents MHA at health fairs and similar events.
12. Assist in planning and implementation of There is Hope Suicide Awareness & Prevention
Walk
13. Coordinates the scheduling and delivery of the Traveling Library to area schools and child
care centers.
14. Maintains files that are current and accurate for the purpose of providing information and
referrals for the public.
15. Expands his/her knowledge of mental health issues through participation in workshops and
teleconferences, reading, and similar activities.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
 Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, health education or related field.

Experience working with youth.

Public speaking experience.

Familiarity with computer programs including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Familiarity
with website software and other technology preferred.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
 Access to reliable transportation is required.

Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Appropriate use of flex-hour scheduling.

Neatness, accuracy, dependability, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain
confidentiality.

