8TH ANNUAL TRAVERSE CITY SUMMER MICROBREW & MUSIC FESTIVAL BREWS MUSIC FOOD AUGUST 21 & 22, 2015 AT THE VILLAGE AT GRAND TRAVERSE COMMONS • TRAVERSE CITY, MI PRESS RELEASE CONTACT: SAM PORTER, DIRECTOR (231) 499-4968, [email protected] FOR APRIL 17, 2015, 10 A.M. RELEASE Energetic folk-rock favorites THE AVETT BROTHERS to headline the 8th Annual Traverse City Microbrew & Music Festival. Annual event to feature four stages, ticketing packages, and new Brew Camp addition. Traverse City, MI (April 17, 2015)—The Traverse City Microbrew & Music Festival will return to the front lawn at The Village at Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City, Michigan for the eighth straight year, slated for Friday and Saturday, August 21 and 22, 2015. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. and will be available online at microbrewandmusic.com/tickets-summer-2015/. Festival planners are pleased to announce that The Avett Brothers will headline the event, playing on Saturday evening. “The Avett Brothers’ songs are honest: just chords with real voices singing real melodies. But, the heart and the energy with which they are sung, is really why people are talking, and why so many sing along. They are a reality in a world of entertainment built with smoke and mirrors, and when they play, the common man can break the mirrors and blow the smoke away, so that all that’s left behind is the unwavering beauty of the songs. That’s the commotion, that’s the celebration, and wherever The Avett Brothers are tonight, that’s what you’ll find.” The four Saturday stages will also be graced by Billy Strings & Don Julin, That 1 Guy, and Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds. Friday night will be an ode to Michigan musicians, headlined by the funky stylings of Robert Randolph backed by Detroit’s own Motor City Horns (of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band fame). Ticketholders should also watch for the Lowdown Brass Band and a Funktion/ Mainstays reunion show. DJ DomiNate will return with 9 DJs to the popular Silent Disco tent on both Friday and Saturday nights, rounding out the count of over 100 musicians rocking this year’s awardwinning craft brew and music festival. New this year: Brew Camp! For additional fees and fun, guests can reserve campsites with power and glamping options at Eagles Meadow on M-72, just 6 minutes from Empire Beach and 15 minutes from the festival. Options include Michigan breakfasts, busking bonfires, festival and Empire Beach shuttles, and exclusive late-night performances by musicians. Brew Camp is a weekend camping option for festival and non-festival goers and is a mini festival itself, giving everyone a new taste of the Northern Michigan flare that has been a part of the annual event for years. 8TH ANNUAL TRAVERSE CITY SUMMER MICROBREW & MUSIC FESTIVAL BREWS MUSIC FOOD AUGUST 21 & 22, 2015 AT THE VILLAGE AT GRAND TRAVERSE COMMONS • TRAVERSE CITY, MI Festivalgoers can anticipate over 200+ selected craft beers, rare beers, wines, meads and ciders, as well as a stellar lineup of live musical acts, access to the homebrewer’s court, and silent disco.
