TCAP is just around the corner and we want to make sure that you and your student are best
prepared to hit their targets for their tests starting on Tuesday, April 28th, 2015. Here are some
things that you can do at home to support your student in the next few weeks.
Make sure they have a quiet place to study: Homework should be coming home each evening.
Ask your student about their homework and support your student in getting it done each evening.
Attendance is Key: These last few weeks are review and it’s very important that your student
is here everyday leading up. Incentives will be provided to students who have the best attendance
throughout the year and it’s the only way that students can truly stay on top of their work.
Ask your student their goals: Every student should know what their own goal for TCAP in
each subject is. Ask them what their target is and continue those conversations in the weeks to
come.
We will be holding our first ever TCAP Fun and Games Night on Thursday, April 23rd at 5:30pm.
Come out to this great event to learn some great test taking strategies and have a lot of fun with our
LEAD Faculty. We look forward to celebrating all of our students’ hard work and prepare for the
approaching TCAP tests.
LEAD High School Senior Signing Day
We are excited that for the second year in a row, 100% of our high school seniors have been
accepted to a 4-year college or university. On Friday, May 1st, all students from each of LEAD Public
Schools 5 campuses will be heading out to TSU’s campus to once again celebrate and be part of the
special moment when each senior signs their letter of intent and announces the college that they will
attend next fall. More information will be coming home about this in the next week or so.
All Sports Athletic Banquet
All student athletes and families – save Tuesday May 5th in your calendar for our annual allsports athletic banquet.
We’ll be celebrating student athletes and recognizing those who
demonstrated our ethos above and beyond by balancing the complexities of being both a scholar and
an athlete. Dinner will be provided for all in attendance.
