Welcome Exhibitors! Prairie State Classic is the first horse show of the season that many of you will attend. It’s a great show for first time exhibitors or for getting that new horse in the ring. In addition to the Morgan, Saddlebred and Academy Divisions, you will also find classes for the Hackney/Harness Ponies. There are also many opportunities to show in the Open and Equitation Divisions. A group of carriage enthusiasts have asked to be included in the show and we’re happy to accommodate them with three classes to get things started. The host hotel this year is The Fairfield Inn in Beloit, Wisconsin. When making reservations, please mention the “horse show or The Ledges” to receive their reduced rate. Look for more information on the inside back cover. What would a great horse show be without food and fun? Join us in the show office each morning for coffee and donuts to kick start your morning and enjoy the delicious food prepared by Laura all day long across from the arena in the café. Friday night there is a pizza party before the start of the evening session, and on Saturday morning stop by the mezzanine for brunch. Test your knowledge in the “You Be The Judge” classes and attend the informal “Jammin’ With The Judge” session. Many thanks to our two experts , Mark Bodnar and John Wich, for leading this great learning experience! If golfing is your thing, join the group on Thursday. You don’t have to be a terrific golfer to have a good time and there’s a dinner following the game. Speaking of experts, we are very pleased to welcome Josh Greer as our judge. Josh has multiple cards in the different breeds and disciplines. Read more about him toward the end of the prize list. Josh is judging the classes at the Kentucky State Fair this year – an honor for any official and we are thrilled to have him at Prairie State Classic. Many of the people who help make the show run smoothly are volunteers. We thank them for the long hours they put in. A huge thank you to all of our sponsors without whom the show would not be possible. Thank you to all of you who have participated in Prairie State Classic throughout the years; and we welcome everyone new or past exhibitors to join in on the fun and competition. We sincerely hope that you will put Prairie State Classic on your show schedule.
