Today’s Lesson, The Kingdom of God, is Lesson #11
on page 88 of The Book of Luke, our Sabbath School
Quarterly. Adult classes are held in the sanctuary, the
Church House, and the library, and children’s classes,
starting with Beginner, are located on the balcony.
Please join us in the sanctuary after our fellowship
meal today for our “Lunch and Learn”. Today’s topic
will be “Depression”.
WE NEED someone to serve our church as the Mailing
Ministry Secretary.
This individual would mail
bulletins and other materials to those who cannot
attend each week. If the Lord is impressing you to
participate in this helpful ministry, speak to the Pastor.
The regular monthly Church Board meeting will be
held tomorrow at 1:30 to 3:00 PM in the Church
House.
This week’s Health Nugget is
“Turmeric and
Depression”. Please pick up a copy in the library or
read online at http://www.MidtownChurch.net.
Welcome, Visitors! We’re so blessed that you chose
to worship with us today. If there is anything we can
do to make your visit more enjoyable, please let one
of our elders or deacons know. And don’t forget to
join us in a Fellowship Lunch right after Worship and
before the “Lunch and Learn” seminar.

AN ORDINATION SERVICE will be performed during
the sharing time today, to dedicate those who have
been selected by our church to serve as an elder or
deacon. These men have willingly answered the call of
the congregation to perform duties that are vital to
our church and they deserve our cooperation and
respect, along with continued prayer. Let us do all we
can to encourage them in their work for the Lord
among us.

Every 2nd and 4th Sabbath, right after Fellowship
Lunch, LeRoy Peterson will lead a Bible Study and
Prayer group in the Sanctuary. This is a wonderful way
to spend a little more of your Sabbath time with the
Lord, and you will receive a special blessing for
attending. Don’t forget, that’s every 2nd and 4th
Sabbath right after Lunch, at 1PM.
If you haven’t picked up a copy of May’s newsletter,
Midtown Herald, they are available in the Library. Or
read it online at our website, MidtownChurch.net, by
clicking on Newsletters.
Pastor Robinson can be heard every Wednesday
evening at 8 PM during June and July on 890 WBAJ.
And during your summer travels, take him with you by
listening to www.WBAJ.net 24 hours a day, worldwide.
OUR REVELATION SEMINARS have officially concluded
this past week. We have made a lot of wonderful
friends as we have opened the Scriptures to them. We
have graduated a combined total of 100 students from
the Revelation series, and half of them have continued
on to complete a follow up course on Christian living
standards. Several have requested membership in our
church and we are planning a baptism service and new
member induction service on June 27. A date has not
been set yet for receiving those wishing to join the
Three Angels Group. Please keep these new friends of
ours in your prayers.
Next Tuesday at our 7 PM “Midweek at Midtown”
we’ll continue watching the exciting Music study
Distraction Dilemma. You’re welcome to come any
Tuesday night, as the videos don’t have to be viewed
consecutively. There are only three more videos left
to watch in this series, before we start our next set.
On June 27, Pastor Robinson will hold a Baby
Dedication for Thomas Rupertpo Zearfoss, the younger
son of Ken and Ronelin Zearfoss. This will be a good
opportunity to catch up on how the Lord has blessed
this family.
"Mercury, calomel, and quinine have brought their
amount of wretchedness, which the day of God alone
will fully reveal. Preparations of mercury and calomel
taken into the system ever retain their poisonous
strength as long as there is a particle of it left in the
system. These poisonous preparations have destroyed
their millions, and left sufferers upon the earth to
linger out a miserable existence. All are better off
without these dangerous mixtures. Miserable
sufferers, with disease in almost every form, misshapen by suffering, with dreadful ulcers, and pains in
the bones, loss of teeth, loss of memory, and impaired
sight, are to be seen almost everywhere. They are
victims of poisonous preparations, which have been, in
many cases, administered to cure some slight
indisposition, which after a day or two of fasting would
have disappeared without medicine. But poisonous
mixtures, administered by physicians, have proved
their ruin.
medicines they take only make their recovery more
hopeless. Yet they keep dosing, and continue to grow
weaker, until they die. Some will have medicine at all
events. Then let them take these hurtful mixtures and
the various deadly poisons upon their own
responsibility. God’s servants should not administer
medicines which they know will leave behind injurious
effects upon the system, even if they do relieve
present suffering.
The endless variety of medicines in the market, the
numerous advertisements of new drugs and mixtures,
all of which, as they say, do wonderful cures, kill
hundreds where they benefit one. Those who are sick
are not patient. They will take the various medicines,
some of which are very powerful, although they know
nothing of the nature of the mixtures. All the
Spiritual Gifts, vol. 4a, Page 139-140
Every poisonous preparation in the vegetable and
mineral kingdoms, taken into the system, will leave its
wretched influence, affecting the liver and lungs, and
deranging the system generally. Nor does the evil end
here. Diseased, feeble infants are brought into the
world to share this misery, transmitted to them from
their parents."
