Easter April 5, 2015 11:00 a.m. PRELUDE Alleluias R. Lau CALL TO WORSHIP “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today” *HYMN #277 *THE INVOCATION: Unison Almighty God, who through Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ has overcome death, and opened to us the gate of everlasting life; We humbly beseech You, that as by Your special grace preceding us, You have put into our minds good desires, so by Your continual help we may steadfastly set our hearts on those things which are above: that when Christ, who is our Life, shall appear, we may also appear with Him in glory, where He now lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, ever One God, world without end. Amen. *HYMN OF RESPONSE “Alleluia! Alleluia!” PASTORAL PRAYER WELCOME #283 Rev. Joel Smit We greet you in the Lord Jesus Christ and are happy that you joined us this morning. We invite you to return and share in our Worship often. (Please sign the Attendance Register in the pew rack) PRESENTATION OF GOD’S TITHES AND OUR OFFERINGS OFFERTORY I Know That My Redeemer Liveth *DOXOLOGY Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; alleluia, alleluia! Praise Him above, ye heav’n-ly host, Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia! G.F. Handel #733 *OFFERTORY PRAYER UNISON SCRIPTURE READING I Cor. 15:1-8 Rev. Marc Harrington “Now brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for your sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, He appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all He appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.” ANTHEM Worthy is the Lamb that was Slain G.F. Handel Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, and hath redeemed us to God by His blood, to receive power, and riches and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, and hath redeemed us to God, to God by His blood, to receive power, and riches, and wisdom and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. Blessing and honour, glory and power be unto Him, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever, for ever and ever. Amen. ** (Dismissal of children ages 4 and 5 to Children’s Church) SCRIPTURE SERMON Matthew 28:1-10 “The Victory of the Resurrection” Rev.
