The 2014 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition
Porsche is offering a special edition Cayenne series called the
Platinum Edition. Based on the Cayenne and Cayenne Diesel
models, the Platinum Editions offer many of the most-requested
options as standard. Externally, the special status of these
models is demonstrated by the exterior detail accents in
Platinum Silver Metallic, with an exclusive two-tone standard
interior in Black Luxor Beige. The two new Platinum Edition
models are on sale now and will be available in the U.S. starting
January 2014.
The Black Luxor Beige two-tone interior combination is also
reserved for these special edition models. Partial leather
interior is standard, while a full leather interior is available as an
option. The SportDesign steering wheel with paddle shifters,
embossed headrests and floor mats with Luxor Beige edging
plus front door entry guards with the "Platinum Edition" script
put the finishing touches on the interior.
The 3.6-liter V6 engine in the Cayenne Platinum Edition delivers
300 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque and sprints from zero to 60
mph in 7.4 seconds. The Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition has
a base MSRP price $63,300. The Cayenne Diesel Platinum
Edition is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine with
240 hp and reaches 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. The Porsche
Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition has a base MSRP price of
$66,900. Prices do not include a $995 destination charge.
The Platinum Edition models offer enhanced standard
equipment, including the eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission,
Power Steering Plus, Park Assist front and rear, the
Convenience Package and Bose® Audio Package. The
Convenience Package includes the Porsche Communication
Management (PCM) system that features a high-resolution
seven-inch touchscreen navigation, BiXenon™ headlights with
Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Driver Memory
Package seats, a moonroof, heated front seats and Auto
Dimming Mirrors. The Bose® Surround Sound System includes
14 loudspeakers with a total output power of 585 watts, Sirius
XM® radio and a 6-disc changer.
Accents painted in Platinum Silver Metallic include the center
and side air intake grills, the side window trim, the rear lip
spoiler and the lower tailgate trim. The standard colors include
monotone paint finishes in Black and White, while Meteor Grey
Metallic, Basalt Black Metallic and Mahogany Metallic are
available as additional extra cost color options. Available
exclusively for this Cayenne edition is the Carrara White Metallic
paint finish. The Platinum Edition exterior is completed with 19
inch Cayenne Design II wheels with colored crest.

Porsche Motorsports Pre-Event Notes. Roar Before the Rolex 24
In 2014, the iconic Porsche 911 took its 40th class victory in
the Rolex 24 At Daytona, on the way to one of two Manufacture
Championships in the inaugural TUDOR United Sports Car
Championship season. The production-car based machine
accounts for more than half of the 76 class wins Porsche has
sent home to Germany from historic Daytona Beach. Nine of
the race versions of the seventh-generation 911 are on the
entry list for this weekend's ROAR Before the Rolex 24
pre-season test at Daytona International Speedway.

combination in 2014. The No. 912 Porsche North America
Porsche 911 RSR will have multi-time Rolex 24 winner Jörg

year factory driver Earl Bamber (New Zealand) fill out the
roster.
The sole customer entry, the No. 17 Team Falken Tire has
longtime driving duo Wolf Henzler (Germany), a Porsche factory
driver, and Bryan Sellers (Braselton, Georgia), who is a Falken
Tire contracted driver, joined by the only North American
Porsche works driver Patrick Long (Manhattan Beach,
California).
With three opportunities for the Porsche 911 RSR to win the GT
Le Mans (GTLM) class for the second-consecutive year and
Nine Porsche 911 GT Americas challenging for top honors in
the GT Daytona (GTD) category, the rear-engine legend has an
excellent opportunity to add a 41st and 42nd class victory on
January 24-25.

A Trio of Porsche 911 RSR
As in years past, Porsche factory drivers will make a significant
impact on the North American sports car racing scene in 2015.
Currently, eight works drivers are scheduled to take part in the
2015 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship driving the
legendary Porsche 911 RSR. The group will challenge for the
intensely competitive GT Le Mans (GTLM) title at the 53rd
Annual Rolex 24 At Daytona on January 24-25.
