General Information Permit Parking Meter Rates / Hours Most parking meters allow up to 3 hours and cost 25 cents per half hour (10am to 6pm). Payment accepted by coin (except Chestnut St. Lot) or by Parkmobile. Train station meters – for Ridgewood residents only – allow up to 12 hours (6am – 6pm) and cost 25 cents per half hour. Park & Ride Lot also allows up to 12 hrs. 6am – 6pm. Costs .25/half hour. Special 15-­‐minute parking meters – in select street locations downtown – cost 20 cents per 15 minutes. Daily Parking at Cottage Pl. Lot Up to 8 hr. parking from 10:00am to 6:00pm costs .75/hour. Payment by coin or Parkmobile. Repeat Parking Prohibited Once the maximum time on a parking meter is reached, the vehicle must be moved from its spot to a different spot, lot or street. Parking staff will strictly enforce. Holiday Parking Parking is “free” at all street meters and in all lots on all of these federal holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Lincoln’s Birthday, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Parking for People with Disabilities There are 18 specially-­‐designated parking spaces available for drivers with a visible valid handicap placard or plates. If a handicapped space is not available, you may park at any parking meter. After depositing fee for the duration of the time desired, no penalty shall be imposed for parking overtime. Per NJ law, this provision shall apply only when the person to whom the placard/plates has been issued is either the driver or passenger of the vehicle. Bicycle / Scooter / Motorcycle Parking Complimentary bicycle racks are available for commuters at the train station (Lot # 7). There are also five spots for scooters/motorcycles, which are available by annual permit. Downtown Employees Central Business District Employee Permits are available on a monthly basis for $80 to provide unlimited parking from 6:00am to 2:00am at the Ken Smith property or Cottage Pl. Lot. All Permits are available at the Village Hall Reception Desk.
