Eve Zyzik
University of California, Santa Cruz
Eve Zyzik completed her undergraduate
degrees in Spanish and French at Indiana
University, Bloomington and later earned a
PhD in Spanish Linguistics from the University
of California, Davis. She is currently an
Associate Professor and Chair of the
Department of Languages and Applied
Linguistics at UC Santa Cruz. She has
published on a variety of topics related to
Spanish as a second language, Spanish as a
heritage language, and also more general
issues such as language-focused instruction in
content courses. She is particularly interested
in usage-based and functional theories of
language acquisition. Her latest project is an
advanced-level textbook entitled El español y
la lingüística aplicada with co-author Robert
Blake (forthcoming with Georgetown
University Press).
