THE COG - RCM Meeting 1534 Bulletin 3 June 2015
President’s News
President’s Corner – David Lloyd
President’s Report will come separately this week as President is having computer problems and Editor is
leaving early tomorrow for warmer climate in Cairns.
Here is the Report mentioned above.
Thursday night (in place of our Wednesday Night meeting) several members attended the Rotaract
Club of Sturt induction at the Hackney Hotel. It was indeed wonderful to see the enthusiasm of the
new Rotaract Club members, I’m sure we are going to hear a lot from them.
Thanks to Ken Quarrell they also have a venue for their weekly Monday meetings situated on
Lockwood Road Burnside, thanks Ken, much appreciated.
The weekend at the kiosk it was again very quiet. Thanks go to Sabrina for travelling all the way to
Thorndon Park for her kiosk duties on such a cold, wet and windy day, you deserved to go home
early. Thanks also to Djuro for helping at the kiosk on Saturday at such short notice.
Saturday morning (prior to the kiosk opening) Djuro and I relieved the shed of the stock of books left
over from the Community Workshop open day, and delivered them to DIK for distribution.
Saturday night the “Magnificent 5” (Graeme, Vicki, Debbie, Ken and myself) attended the BBQ for the
“Star” function. On the night, I made friends a with young fella by the name of Wayne and I have
promised that I will cook some Kangaroo sausages for him next time, Graeme Please remind me,
Wayne’s a big lad and I don’t want to upset him!!
Due to unavoidable circumstances, I manned the Kiosk on Sunday, it was indeed very quiet on the
day and no other assistance was needed. While there I noticed the support poles for the shades have
been erected in the sunken garden area. It should all be completed by this coming weekend.
This Wednesday night’s meeting shall be focused on the Strategic Plan 2015-2017 led by Tim.
I’m happy to say that the Riggalls and the Summers are now safely home, we might even see them
this Wednesday night.
Presidents Profiles, you know who you are, Just do it !!!
Take care
David

Rotaract - Charter Night
The Rotaract Club of Sturt Charter Night was held on Thursday 27 May 2015 at the Hackney Hotel
This memorable event was attended by a number of Morialta Members including President David Lloyd
and President Elect Tim Mee (See Photos)
It was great to see the support from other Group 7 clubs and district 9520 representatives.
The Charter was conducted by DG Jerry Casburn and also attended by DG Elect Dick Wilson
The inaugural President of the Rotaract Club of Sturt is Joshua Richards in the photo accepting the Charter
Certificate.
A great fun night with lots of “Young” future Rotarians.
Something about use of a microphone at Rotary meetings

Please read some of the comments. One particular comment.
“By the way, do you remember old George that stopped coming to Rotary meetings and then
resigned. Everyone thought it was because he was getting old, but actually he stopped coming
because he could no longer hear what was being said by the President and the speakers and didn’t
like to make a fuss.”

District 9520 Info
Incoming Club Officers
Clubs will be starting to plan for their changeover functions in June or July. A new Rotary year brings
many new Club leaders. However many Clubs have still not reported all their incoming Club Officers.
It is very important that these Officers and their email addresses are entered in My Rotary to ensure
that communication to Clubs continues smoothly with the changes in Club leadership.
Changes to the Rotary International Website
There have been some recent changes to the Club and District pages on the RI website:
• Overall redesign: Related activities will be grouped together
• Quick Links: The ability to designate favourite links from the Club & District Administration section
and access them from your My Rotary dashboard.
• Terms of Access: Incoming Club and District Officers will have access to Club and District
information by June 1st. Most outgoing Club and District Officers will retain access to the information
for 12 months.
An important reminder to Club Secretaries
Your Club’s annual District subscription is based on the number of active Rotarians you have recorded
on the Rotary International website on May 31st. Semi annual dues are based on similar information,
which should be current on the same date. Please check that your membership list is up to date to
ensure that you are billed correctly.
