CHAMORRO
MONTH
Every school year in
March, public schools on Guam celebrate
Chamorro Month. It is a time set aside to
focus Chamorro instruction on Guam’s
unique heritage: its language, traditions,
and culture. Like the characteristics of an
individual, Guam, too, has unique
characteristics of its group of people …
Guam’s identity. Keep Guam’s heritage
“alive” to pass on to the next generation!

DLPES Make up Day
3/30/15
Due to tropical storm Bavi, DOE
schools were closed on 3/16/15. To be
compliant with Public Law 28-14,
requiring 180 instructional days, our
make-up date will be on Monday 3/30/15.
Thank you to our students who attended
Saturday classes with enthusiasm.
A special thanks to their families who
faithfully drove them to and from school
every Saturday and on time.
On the last Saturday session, our students’
families were treated to a culminating
activity that showcased their child’s work:
Tech It Out created a power point
presentation showing each group at work;
Literature & Puppetry students presented a
puppet show;
Healthy Lifestyles & PE students danced to
the music;
Environmental Science students went on a
walking fieldtrip to DLP’s garden; and
Creative Expression students displayed
their artwork. Two classrooms wore t-shirts
they creatively designed and tie-dyed.
Thank you to the following
teachers/staff for your dedication and
