For town board, Eric Behnke won re-election while incumbent Henry Bauers lost to Chuck Rayala III, a former town board member. Manitowish Waters vote totals: Town Chairman: John Hanson: 206 (winner) Kevin Griffith: 88 Town Supervisors: Eric Behnke: 215 (winner) Chuck Rayala III: 169 (winner) Henry Bauers: 160 Boating Safety Class is being held May 20, 26 and 27 at the North Lakeland school at 3:30 pm for $10. This is for kids 12 years old or turning 12 in the summer. You can call 715-543-2159 to sign up for the class and to get more information. Music-In-The-Park begins on Sunday, May 24 with Bret & Frisk playing. On Sunday, May 31, Justin Russell will be playing. You can dock your boat or bring a lawn chair to Koller Park to enjoy this FREE music from 4-6pm. MANITOWISH WATERS - MAY The Big Event at North Lakeland Discovery Center is held on Sunday, May 24 from 4:30 7:30pm. This popular “FUNraiser” includes beverages, appetizers and dinner. Browse and bid on an array of items, experiences and getaways through both a silent and live auction. Advance reservations required. Lions Memorial Day Weekend Pancake Breakfast will occur on Sunday, May 24 from 8am noon. All-U-Can-Eat pancakes, pork links, applesauce, juice and coffee will be served. Come on out to the Manitowish Waters Community Center and enjoy this feast! A Fond Farewell At the Annual Town Meeting on Tuesday, April 22, a fond farewell was given to Henry Bauers. Henry served as a Manitowish Waters Town Supervisor Lois & Hentry Bauers for 12 years. with John Hanson Young Eagles Flight for Kids Save the date - Saturday, June 27 from 10am - 2pm at the Manitowish Waters Airport (weather permitting). Kids who wish to get a ride MUST be accompanied by an adult. More info to come in the June newsletter. Traveling Smithsonian Exhibit runs through the month of May at the Koller Library and Hogan’s General Store. At the library you can view Pine Logs to Woodsy Retreats, Gangster artifacts and town history.
