 Sponsorship Prospectus Dear Prospective Sponsor: For forty‐five years, the National Association of Commissions for Women (NACW), a 501(c)(3) organization, has represented the interests of the board and staff from state, county, and city women’s commissions. NACW has been the only national advocate of women’s commissions who, in turn, articulate the interests and concerns of millions of women and girls in their own communities. Our membership is made up of a rich blend of all ages, economic, ethnic, and social groups. Through their work, they touch millions of women and girls by playing a significant role in local, state and national policy and legislative development. They are the bridges between government and their communities. For forty‐five years, NACW members have gathered in cities across the country to meet, share best practices and learn about trends and issues facing women. Today, NACW is at the crossroads of a renewed sense of purpose. One in which we are becoming a vital player in the success of our members. It is only fitting that NACW chose Indiana, the Crossroads of America, for its 45th Annual Conference and Empowerment Summit. The conference is scheduled for July 19‐23, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Downtown Union Station in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is also fitting that this year’s theme is At the Crossroads of Equality and Justice. After two years of strategic introspection, we will be laying the groundwork to propel NACW into a new era as an organization with increased capacity to serve the needs of our members who serve the needs of millions of women and girls throughout the nation. ABOUT THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COMMISSIONS FOR WOMEN (NACW)
The National Association of Commissions for Women (NACW) was originally formed in 1970 as the Interstate Association of Commissions on the Status of Women (IACSW) to represent women’s commission across the country, and to provide them with support and resources so that they will survive and thrive. In 1975, the IACSW became NACW and increased its membership to include state, county and city commissions for women.
