The match is presented by HUB International, for all your insurance and safety needs. FC Edmonton 2 | 1 Atlanta Silverbacks Clarke Field, Edmonton, AB November 2, 2014 It was a heartbreaking week for the Eddies after dropping points against San Antonio Scorpions last weekend and bowing out of the Amway Canadian Championship against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Wednesday night. The Silverbacks managed to draw their last game 1-1 against Jacksonville Armada FC. Hans Denissen scored a goal within the first minute to give Atlanta the early lead, but Alhassane Keita tied the game for Jacksonville 20 minutes into the match. Former FC Edmonton player, Kyle Porter, will be returning to Clarke Field once again. Porter made 47 appearances for the Eddies before leaving for Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United. The Toronto born winger has made five appearances for the Silverbacks and has scored one goal so far this season. The last time these two sides met, FC Edmonton registered a 2-1 victory over the Atlanta side at Clarke Field. Tomi Ameobi and Michael Nonni both registered goals in the first half. Bangura pulled one back for the Silverbacks 71 minutes into the mame but the Eddies defence held strong for all three points. Daryl Fordyce scored both goals for the Eddies in their 3-2 loss to the San Antonio Scorpions last time out. A win for FC Edmonton on Sunday will level them on points with the Silverbacks with a game in hand still. . EDMONTON, AB - FC Edmonton took to the turf at Clarke Stadium for the last time in their 2014 North American Soccer League (NASL) Fall campaign on Sunday afternoon against the Atlanta Silverbacks. Coming off a heartbreaking loss in Fort Lauderdale against the Strikers last week, which saw their post-season hopes dashed, the Eddies finished the season on a high note with a 2-1 win in their final match and secured a third place finish in the NASL Fall Season standings. Each team exchanged possession in the early going with a few scattered scoring opportunities for each side early in the match, but it was in the 17th minute that the Eddies were the first to get on the board. A cross from Eddie Edward from the right wing dropped almost perfectly to striker Tomi Ameobi inside the 6-yard-box who had time to corral it and pick his corner from point blank range to put the Eddies up 1-0. FCE would have some scattered scoring opportunities in the final third and ‘keeper Farago would do well in his first professional appearance to make some fantastic saves to preserve the one-goal lead. But at the final whistle, the two tallies by Ameobi and Nonni in the first half would prove enough for FCE to walk with all three points in their final match. Miller also made sure to praise young goalkeeper Tyson Farago for his fantastic debut with the club.
