INTRODUCTION OBJECTIVE

INTRODUCTION
India is emerging as one of the fastest-growing world economy with 7.4 percent GDP. Economic Survey 2015
forecasted GDP growth between 8.1 to 8.5 percent in FY 15-16. Many major global corporate players across the
industry are coming to India for expanding their business. The demographic dividend is immensely in favor of India.
In this context, B-Schools have a pivotal role to play by growing high talent professionals as needed by the Corporate
World. In fact, the Corporate World and B-Schools must work in unison, complimenting and supplementing each
other for the availability of high quality talents.
Towards this end, NHRDN, the apex body of HR professionals is engaged in developing a National Forum for the
Thought Leaders from the Corporate World and Academia. The whole intention and idea is to bring both the robust
partners i.e. Corporate World and B-Schools to meet, discuss and plan to evolve strategy enabling Indian B-Schools
to be in the top 25 B - Schools of the World. As of now, surprisingly not even a single Indian B-School feature in the
hall of fame of top 25 B-Schools in the world. The backbone of professional education is the industry academia
connectedness along with focus on research and training for which we have miles to go.
It is in this context that NHRDN is partnering with many B-Schools and has initiated NHRDN-Udai Pareek Memorial
Scholarship, NHRDN – Prof Ram Charan Awards. It is also significantly engaged in Ranking of B-Schools in India
with a view to improving their system, process and governance. Based on that experience, NHRDN has come to
conclusion that Indian B-Schools need to tone up their governance process and leadership mind set.
OBJECTIVE
The NHRDN 1st Indian Management Forum is pioneering effort to bring the leaders from both the worlds of
Academia & Corporate along with Policy Makers with the following objectives:
•
•
•
To provide collaborative forum where leaders from both worlds evaluate strategies, processes and system for
grooming high quality talents;
To introspect and develop insight about the issues and problems of B-Schools and learn from each other
successful experiences and
Preparing a blue print actionable agenda to make B-Schools to move to the next orbit
