Tuesday, May 5th Teacher Appreciation Day Education is a huge part of who we are at Natureworks. In
honor of National Teacher Appreciation Day all teachers
receive 10% off all books, seeds, and praying mantis egg
cases. Offer for teachers extends from Tuesday 5/5 through
Saturday 5/9.
Thursday, May 7th 5‐6 pm Container Party for Mom $30 registration fee We will be kicking off Mother’s Day weekend with this fun
workshop featuring containers from our new MOKA line.
Enjoy an iced mocha and refreshments while we guide you
through the basics of planting up your very own container.
Fee includes: MOKA container, organic fertilizer, organic
soil, and two plants. Additional items will be available for
purchase. Please call to pre-register.
Stay and plant up a beautiful pot with (or for) Mom, a
special Aunt, Grandma, or any special lady! We can help
and clean up the mess for you. Purchase a container from
our selection or we invite you to bring one from home.
Bring Mom in for a special treat courtesy of Natureworks.
Every Mom receives an Iced Mocha drink and a cut flower.
We will be demonstrating planting containers all throughout the weekend.

More than 70 exhibitors will be on hand to offer beautiful
hand-made artisan crafts, a fine selection of unique flowers, perennials, food and entertainment, children’s activities, and noted speakers on lifestyle and gardening subjects. Natureworks will have an amazing selection of
beautiful plants at this wonderful annual May Market.
Thursday, May 14th 5‐6 pm Growing Amazing Plants in Smart Pots We LOVE Smart Pots at Natureworks. We use them to
grow tons of food, herbs, fruit, and flowers. You will see
them planted up in Veggie Island in the center of our
parking lot and other spots throughout the garden center.
Nancy will share with you WHY they work so well for
growing plants. She will demonstrate planting in a Grow
Bag, how to mix and amend the soil, and the continued
care and feeding of your Smart Pot gardens.

Saturday, May 16th Edible Landscaping 9:30‐10:30 am Join Nancy as she takes you on a tour of the Natureworks gardens and explains how easy and fun it is to weave veggies, small fruits, herbs, and edible flowers right into your ornamental beds.
Cameron Bonsey from Coast of Maine Soil Presentation at 11:00 am Cameron will be on hand to talk about how their organic lobster compost is made, why it is great for veggie planting,
and how it helps to improve your soil. We are very excited for Cameron’s visit to help us promote soil health and
education, since 2015 has been named the “International Year of Soils” by the UN General Assembly.
Monday, May 18th thru Sunday, May 24th Garden Club Appreciation Week! We love garden clubs and all that they do for their communities. All Connecticut Garden Club members who shop at
Natureworks during this time period will receive a one-time $5 gift card to be put toward any $20 purchase.

Wednesday, May 20th 1 pm Spring Planter $20 fee Children are invited to join us to plant up an organic kid-friendly container that they can take home with them.

Thursday, May 21st `5‐6 pm Terrarium Workshop $30 fee Join us for a fun-filled terrarium workshop! Participants will create a miniature world in a glass container.
$30 fee includes container, 2 plants, rocks, mosses and a naturalistic mushroom. Please call to pre-register.

Saturday, May 23rd 9:30‐10:30 am Growing our Favorite Culinary Herbs with Barbara Torino We are so excited and honored to welcome Barbara Torino back to Natureworks to teach us all about herbgardening. Barbara is a longtime herb gardener and former employee of Natureworks. This workshop will cover
choosing a site and preparing the soil, selecting plants, and basic design.
