Hello Bridge Run Volunteer! Thank you for volunteering your time for the Navy’s 29th Annual Bay Bridge Run & Walk. You have signed up for the following event: Sunday, May 17 – Race Day Finish Line Tidelands Park Coronado • 6:30am – 12:00pm Duties include: setup, runners gear, traffic control, crowd control, t-shirt distribution, food and water distribution and clean-up. Lifting is required. Please look for the Volunteer tent near the restrooms. Please wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear. If you have a pair of work gloves or require the use of a back brace, it is advisable that you bring them. This event is held outside so please check for weather conditions and dress accordingly. If it is sunny, it is advisable that you utilize sunscreen. We ask that all volunteers arrive early to check-in and to begin setup. There will be over 10,000 participants this year. Parking is at a premium this year as there are no spaces set aside for volunteers at Tidelands Park. You are welcome to park on the side streets surrounding Tidelands Park but at your own risk. We have set aside approximately 70 spaces at the Naval Air Station North Island Visitors parking lot at the corner of Third Street and Alameda Boulevard. Part of this email packet is a parking pass that will need to be printed out and placed on your dash when parking in the Visitors lot. A shuttle will bring volunteers to and from Tidelands Park beginning at 6:00am. We highly recommend carpooling if volunteering as part of a group. Spaces are first come, first serve and are not guaranteed. MWR is not responsible for any parking or towing fees incurred. Upon volunteer check-in, registered volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt and a Volunteer Service Agreement (VSA) will need to be completed. At check-out, registered volunteers will receive a Letter of Appreciation (LOA). Community service hours can be signed off by the Volunteer Coordinator at the completion of the event. If you have registered for multiple events, you will receive an email for each event that you have volunteered for. Respectfully, Oliver Bocaya Bridge Run Volunteer Coordinator [email protected] Volunteer Parking - NASNI Visitors Lot Third Street & Alameda Blvd Directions: Take 5 freeway to Coronado Bridge, stay on road after the bridge as it will become Third Street. Continue on until you reach Alameda Boulevard. Cross Alameda Boulevard and entrance to overflow parking will be on your left prior to entering the NASNI base gate. A Shuttle will be available to and from the event site at Tidelands Park starting at 6:00 am.
