Helpful Notes for people attending NCCL’s Annual Conference and Exposition
Before the Conference:
• Double-check your registration:
Did you sign up for the free publishersponsored meals / reception?

• You do not need a special invitation to
attend, but you do need a ticket.
• Open to all conference attendees, including
registered spouses.
• No high-pressure to buy; just good food
enjoyed together.
Full-conference attendees: The Awards
Luncheon is included in your registration if
you reserved a ticket.
• Join us in congratulating the award winners.
Distinguished Service Award recipient
remains a secret until the luncheon.

• Meet in the Hyatt lobby at 9:00
am.
If you want to add any of these events, please go
to your membership record on www.nccl.org, click
Events, add your selections and save. If you are
not a member, email the NCCL office.

diocesan and parish catechetical leaders
from your province to discuss issues
pertinent to your area.

 If your travel plans preclude attending Mass
at home, no worry: all conference
attendees are welcome to join us, Sunday

When you arrive at the hotel:
• Check into your guest room in the hotel lobby
• Pick up your NCCL Conference nametag and Registration materials at the NCCL Registration Counter
in the Buffalo-Niagara Convention Center (Lobby Level)
Avoid the Monday rush: Registration materials may be picked up:
Saturday (in Room 102) 2:30 - 5:00 pm and 9:00 - 10:00 pm
Sunday (in the Lobby) 7:45 am - 4:45 pm and 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Make sure you received tickets with your nametag if you signed up for any of these events:

About NCCL:
• The National Conference for Catechetical
Leadership grew out of the early Confraternity
of Christian Doctrine (CCD) movement in this
country, with roots going back to 1934. It is
dedicated to bringing the teaching ministry of
Jesus to every Catholic.
• NCCL’s members represent the full spectrum of
catechetical leadership: bishops, pastors,
diocesan and parish catechetical leaders,
academics, authors and publishers of
catechetical materials, other Catholic leaders.
• NCCL is the only independent national
organization exclusively dedicated to serving
the church's catechetical mission in the
United States grounded in evangelization.
NCCL Board:
• 4 officers (elected by the NCCL membership)
• 5 at-large members (discerned by Rep Council)
• ex officio: bishop-advisor, liaison from the
USCCB, and NCCL’s Executive Director
NCCL Representative Council (Rep Council):
• Comprised of representatives from the USCCBdefined Provinces and affiliated and liaison
organizations.
• Each province may send 1 diocesan rep and 1
parish rep to Rep Council.
• Discusses issues of importance to NCCL and
the catechetical ministry
• Consultative body to and from the Board
NCCL Committees:
• As a member-driven organization, active
involvement by NCCL members in NCCL’s
committees is vital to the organization.
• Please consider what gifts and talents you have
to assist NCCL committees.
