Spring and summer are my favorite seasons of the year. The earth begins to
come back to life after the rigors of a cold winter season. The Lord begins to
revive His work of creation with signs of life appearing everywhere.
I am
reminded of the words of Habakkuk 3:2, “…O Lord, revive thy work…”
I pray
that is happening in all of our churches as well. This is the season for celebration
on the church calendar.
We begin by celebrating Easter and Resurrection
Reality in Christ and in our churches. Note on the following page a list of 97 of
our churches celebrating the resurrection message with 168 events, 129
conversions and recommitments to Christ, with 25,757 total attendance to our
Easter events.
If the rest of our churches had reported their events, we
probably would discover over 40,000 people celebrated Christ’s resurrection in
our churches during Easter weekend.
Mother’s Day, Pentecost Sunday, Father’s Day and Independence Day are all
celebration times of this Celebration Season. Let us focus on honoring the Holy
Spirit, our parents, and freedom as we make this a harvest-time season for the
kingdom of our Lord and the North Carolina Conference!

The Month of May is Designated
in the North Carolina Conference
More and more, our pastors and churches are embracing the month of May to recognize
and celebrate the Retired Ministers of our conference. The Bible clearly supports such
recognition encouraging us to give “honor to whom honor is due.” (Romans 13:7)
Our Conference has 103 retired ministers plus their spouse, & 42 spouses of deceased retired ministers. These are
precious people who have lived and worked among us, and have given their lives for the cause of Christ and this conference.
They live in every district of our conference, attend our churches faithfully as they are physically able, and add greatly to the
spiritual atmosphere of the church. Often they are not seen or heard from as often as when they were active pastors and
evangelists, but they are still there praying, preaching and contributing what they can to the work of the ministry….and will
until the Lord takes them home.
It is so true at every level of church leadership that once a minister is out of the general circulation of conference and church
activities, he or she may be quickly forgotten, regardless of the success achieved during their active ministry years. If people
don’t see you participating, contributing or hear from you in some way, you can quickly fade from their memory. The old
saying, “out of sight, out of mind” is certainly true, not only in the ministry but in other areas as well.
Knowing this, the month of May was selected to bring special attention to the retired minister. Regardless of how you do it,
make the retired ministers of our conference feel loved & appreciated for their lifetime of service in the Kingdom of God.
The purpose of this fund is to enable us to help our retired ministers during times of special needs. It is not intended to
supplement the minister’s retirement benefits on an ongoing monthly basis. This fund has come in handy in aiding those who
have had unexpected medical expenses during times of grief, hospital stays and many other special personal needs. Every
dime contributed is used for the purpose for which it is given. There is no overhead or salaries paid from this fund. All
funds are deposited in an interest-bearing account at the NC Conference Ministerial & Church Extension Loan Fund.
The funds are disbursed by the Retired Ministers Board after due consideration of the need. Receiving this offering has been
approved by the NC Conference Executive Council. Please permit your church to participate by giving to this worthy cause.
The special day set aside for this offering is Sunday, May 3, 2015. We Challenge You & Your Church family to Contribute!
Rev. Gary Strickland, Special Speaker | Mr. Rodney Walker, Worship Leader
Registration: Rev. Wiley Clark (910-980-1071) as soon as possible to reserve your spot!
Room reservations may be made by calling Sheila Oglesby at the Conference office (910-980-1162).
As everyone knows, just a few days ago, a massive 7.8 earthquake shook the country of Nepal,
as well as Bangladesh, India and Tibet. Large aftershocks are still being felt, and in its wake,
the destructive tremor has left entire villages leveled, tens of thousands homeless and/or
injured, widespread destruction and chaos, & a death toll that was over 4,000 at the time of
this publication. It is sadly expected to rise.
Though we may feel helpless, our first responsibility must be to pray for this poverty-stricken
country. As a denomination, disaster relief efforts are already in motion,
and we ask you and your church families to seriously consider making a
monetary contribution to the ongoing and inevitably-increasing need that
this tragedy will amass.
Disaster Relief USA (DRUSA), a ministry arm of People to People
Ministries, is ready to accept your donation-no matter the amount. You
can send your offering in to the Conference office (your church will receive
credit) or you can send directly to the IPHC
Headquarters in Oklahoma City. Earmark/
memo your offering for Nepal earthquake
and make sure to put the account
#09055D.
You can also give directly online with your credit card at:
www.donations.iphc.org/projects/disaster-relief.
Thank you in advance for your continual prayers and for your offerings.
NCIPHC Archives & Research Department presents

FEATURED SPEAKER:
Appalachian State University
PASTORS, YOUTH PASTORS, WORSHIP LEADERS, CHURCH HISTORIANS AND SCHOLARS,
These lectures are for you! You are strategically poised within our local fellowships to help equip the church for the most dynamic
and positive ministry experiences possible IF you are willing to learn from the lessons of success and failures that history offers us.
REGISTER NOW! We are only days away. Here's what you can expect:
3 Information Packed Sessions designed to help us learn how for better or for worse, Pentecostal Youth Culture and American Pop
Culture have been uniquely and intricately intertwined over the last century.
1) “The Evolution of Church Music: Singing and Worship in Twentieth Century American Congregations”
2) “‘Mostly Christian’: The Dilemma of Church Youth Programs in Post World War Two Christianity”
3) “No Grace at Graceland: Elvis Presley and the Rejection of Evangelical Christianity”
This is an increasingly vital issue to consider in our churches today as we work to develop successful outreach and discipleship
ministries along with meaningful worship.
As a denomination and a conference, we have intensely strived from our earliest days to be as approachable and culturally
relevant as possible while maintaining a holy lifestyle. We have heralded the talents of our youth and encouraged them to lead the
way in ministry to the next generation. All of us have seen both positive and negative outcomes. It is the hope of the Archives
Ministries Department that these lectures will better prepare us to collectively respond, relate and minister more wisely as we
continue striving to do our best to remain a relatable yet “peculiar people” in this contrasting culture.

“Go, make disciples, baptize, and teach” new believers to obey His commands (Matthew 28:18-20). This task
grows each year as the world’s population has multiplied from 2 billion to over 7 billion. This increase
provides numerous opportunities for the Body of Christ to fulfill the Great Commission!
THE NATIONS ARE WAITING TO HEAR THE GOSPEL PROCLAIMED, AND THE CHURCH HAS BEEN
COMMISSIONED TO COMMUNICATE GOD’S MESSAGE OF HOPE BY SALVATION THROUGH
CHRIST. (ACTS 1:8)
The annual IPHC Global Outreach offering provides funds to assist in reaching
the lost world-wide. Your financial support is crucial to both the World
Missions Ministries Division and Evangelism USA, as this offering is used to
fund evangelism, church planting, new laborers, pioneering and developing
new works, buildings, Bible schools, training centers, National Missionaries,
and so much more. As Jesus said, “The fields are ripe for harvest.” When you
give to the Global Outreach offering, you make it possible to fund ministry in
America (316 million) and to the almost 7 billion people living elsewhere.
FULFILLING THE SPIRIT OF GENEROSITY!
Our goal is for each local church to participate. We trust that each IPHC member will be moved by God’s
Spirit of Generosity and purpose to give an offering each year. We emphasize a Day’s Wage challenge as an
achievable goal. Remember, your money turns into ministry on the mission field. The average Day’s Wage
for an American worker is $128 (based on the median income of $33,196 reported by the U.S. Census
Bureau).
YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Large portions of today’s developing world only make $2.00 or less per day.
There is no doubt that God blesses all His children to influence and help
change the world around us, and as God’s children, we have the responsibility
to share our faith and its blessings with others (Galatians 3:8-9). Blessed to be
living in this prosperous nation, an American’s Day’s Wage makes a
tremendous impact in developing countries!
GIVE AS GOD INSPIRES!
The Day’s Wage emphasis is simply a tool to assist in purposely saving your gift for Global Outreach.
Hearing the Father’s heart of Generosity leads numerous people in giving even more toward the
opportunities and challenges before the Church today. As God’s inspires, we hope you are encouraged to give
so others may receive!
PASTORS, START YOUR GLOBAL OUTREACH PROMOTION NOW!
Help us achieve 100% participation! Don’t miss out on your chance to INVEST IN ETERNITY! We have
promotional materials available (coin bags, bulletin inserts/brochures, videos, GO posters). Call us and we

We are very thankful for all of the Hispanic pastors and
their wives who showed tremendous support for the
"Hispanic Women’s Conference" by sending so many
sisters from their congregations. It really was a
tremendous blessing; more than 650 women were at the
all-day conference event. Over 150 more joined them
during the night closure concert. I firmly believe that
they were blessed by the word exposed, the time of
ministry, the fellowship and the sweet presence of the
Holy Spirit. We were honored to host Ingrid Rosario as
our guest speaker and singer. Ingrid is an International
Worship Leader, Latin Grammy winner and a very
influential artist among the Latino community.
We are seeing more and more involvement and interest
from our local churches and many others from different
associations. I believe the Lord will continue to use this
Conference to reach many more souls for Christ and to create these types of events for the nourishment and preparation
of the body of Christ. Be praying with us as we prepare to carry out our annual Men’s Conference on May 63-30, and the
Hispanic Youth Camp on the last weekend of June.
-Fernando Angulo
The Conference Office will be closed on May 25,
in observance of Memorial Day.
