CHANGES TO CLUB OFFICERS
Thanks to Paul for his stint as secretary. The role has been taken on by
Ian Hunter and we have a new sale secretary Andy Harmer who is also
our webmaster. The website continues to provide a platform for
enquiries,
NEWS IN BRIEF
It has been a while since the last Spinnaker but not much sailing
between the end of 2014 and now—let’s hope the weather is kind
during Spring and Summer.
We have had Adrian Clutterbuck demonstrating his scale figures and
Stuart Wilkins giving an illustrated talk on the work of the Air
Ambulance Service.
We look forward to a couple of sessions, with Ian Peacock, on
airbrushing techniques.
Our event diary is filling up nicely and includes a new venue at Fenny
Stratford where they will be having a canal festival in August.
Please check with the website for details of visiting speakers and
venues that we will be attending/displaying
Membership numbers remain steady—whilst we have lost members
we have gained two or three—it is always good to have new blood and
different boats to display
We will be having more ‘work in progress’ sessions during the year as
they are a good motivator to get on with a build!
Sunday sailing has re-commenced at the Earls Barton pond
3
SUNDAY SAILING
The pond is in pretty good condition apart from weed in the far right
hand corner.
Otherwise the lifeboats took pride of place.

AROUND THE SHOWS
Our first show of the year took place at Windmill Avenue School,
Raunds, at the end of March.
Whilst it was well attended by our members the number of visitors left
much to be desired.
Work in progress was well received
5
NATIONAL MODEL BOAT SHOW—COALVILLE
Our second show of the year close on the heels of Raunds. Again well
attended by our members.
Andy is rewarded at long last with an award described as best ‘semi
scratch’
This is our new club banner as designed by Andy Harmer. It will
replace the old one which has been around almost as long as the club
itself.

THE SPINNAKER
The current edition of Spinnaker (April 2015) is number 35 and this
newssheet has been going since August 2003.I have been
editing/writing since issue number 9 (August 2005)
The last few issues have been electronic although a few copies have
been printed for the few members who do not have access to the
internet.
I have a copy of every issue back to 2003 should anyone wish to see
them — they are part of the club history.
Spinnaker used to be published four times a year but now only twice
due to lack of contributions.
Perhaps someone would like to take over the role of editor and give
Spinnaker a fresh face!
VOLUNTEERS WELCOME
