By keeping things uncomplicated and impressionistic, and using photos as our inspiration, you will produce some landscapes that will capture the essence of your “home and native land.” The course will include demonstrations, tips and tricks, colour-mixing exercises, all tools and paints, and photo references to work from. All materials are supplied but participants may bring their own brushes and palettes if they wish. All you need is to bring a lunch and we can picnic while we work. Ages 16+ The Manitoba Holiday Festival of the Arts owes its beginning to Gissur Eliasson of the School of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba. He recognized a lack of art opportunities available for the creative individual and started a “Painting in the Park” program. With the help of the Neepawa Chamber of Commerce, the Neepawa Fine Arts Festival, Neepawa Collegiate Institute Staff and others, the foundations of the Festival were laid. The Festival has grown to include the literary and performing arts as well as various crafts. These magical portals of discovery will open to adventures in creativity. Each day will begin with a book that will take us through a threshold of new possibilities to find hidden treasures that are everywhere and the mysterious, wonderful places they are found.
