CLEANUP Immediate Initial Cleanup (for each 6- to 9-tile section) 1. Gently wipe a semi-saturated (soaked but not dripping), square-edged rigid sponge diagonally across the grouted joints. 2. Do not apply downward force to the sponge. Simply move it side to side to dress the joints and loosen excess grout from tile surface. 3. Rinse the sponge often in a bucket of clean water and change the rinse water frequently. Note: All residue and haze does not need to be removed at this point. This step is intended to smooth and even out the joint. Excessive pressure or washing can remove the grout from the joint. 4. Repeat the above process for each 6- to 9-tile section until grouting is completed.
