BRIEF TREATMENT GUIDELINES

BRIEF TREATMENT GUIDELINES
In order to ensure the best outcome for your patients, it is very
important that they follow these recommendations.
SIZING
It is essential that the patient has the correct size garment. Please refer to the sizing chart which clearly shows where
measurements should be taken from, and how to choose the correct size garment and electrode position.
APPLYING THE GARMENTS
When the patient applies the garments, it is important to ensure that all electrodes are in the correct position and in full
contact with the skin. To ensure this they must follow the steps in the Quick Start Guide or watch the Application video.
CONNECTING THE LEADS
When connecting the blue and red leads to the garments please ensure that both connections are fully clicked into
position by pushing firmly.
INTENSITY LEVELS
To optimise the results from a treatment session, it is recommended that the patient remains standing with their feet flat on
the floor, shoulder width apart near a surface to lean on if required. Neurotech advise that patients try to reach a minimum
intensity level of 70-75. The intensity level of the stimulation should be gradually increased during the initial session. With
time (generally 1 - 2 weeks) patients should find that they are better able to tolerate higher intensities and are capable of
reaching the recommended level. However, they should never exceed their comfort level. Effective stimulation should be
strong but never uncomfortable.
SENSATION
The goal of treatment with Vital Compact is to recruit and train the pelvic floor muscles. Patients may initially feel
stimulation in and around their back passage but as they continue to increase the intensity they will feel the contraction
moving forward between the legs. Once they can feel strong stimulation throughout the full pelvic floor they have reached
a sufficient level.
