LOCAL CAMPAIGNER RE-SELECTED
BOB RENTON has been re-selected as the Liberal
Democrat candidate for Dene ward for the local
elections on May 7th. BOB has been a Councillor
since 1994 & has lived in the area all his life. He is
married with 2 grown up daughters & 5 grandchildren. BOB is a Governor of Benton Park
Primary School & attends St George’s church in
High Heaton. On the Council BOB is a member of
the Tyne & Wear Fire Authority & the Regulatory
Committee. He is also a member of the Friends of
Paddy Freeman & has helped secure funds for
play equipment for disabled children & events such
as Paws in the Park. He is a volunteer for the
Friends of High Heaton Library.
BOB says “ The main issues for our area are the
poor quality roads & pavements, the reduction in
local services, such as grass cutting, pruning & street cleaning & on-going traffic,
road safety & parking problems. I also want to see better housing for older people &
more community activities for both young & older local residents”

changed & everyone has to register personally, rather than as a
