Find out how she harmonizes home, work and “Susie-time” without compromising any of the three. Susie Wargin was born in Denver and raised in Broomfield, Colorado. She began her communications career in Fort Collins as an intern in radio, while attending college at Colorado State University. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in speech communications from CSU, a radio station hired her to push buttons for syndicated broadcasts. Like most 22 year olds that get into radio, her dream was to be a DJ on the FM Dial. In December 1992 she was asked to work a Christmas Day shift no one wanted on Channel 93.3. From there Susie worked three years of overnights and weekends as an FM DJ. During this time she also worked in the promotions department, waited tables, and started a mobile DJ business. In November of 1995, opportunity knocked and Susie became the midday DJ at KBPI in Denver, where she "Rocked the Rockies" for almost 9 years. While Susie loves music, her main passion is sports. In February of 1998 she began doing sports updates during "The Zoo" on 850-KOA and eventually became the first full-time female sports reporter for KOA. She also spent two years as the radio sideline reporter for Colorado State football games before being hired at 9 News. Susie joined 9NEWS in September of 2001 as the high school prep sports reporter. Three years later, after hosting the "Prep Rally", the Sonny Lubick Show and filling in for the guys, Susie was hired to be the morning weekday sports anchor, which she did for nine years. These days, Susie is a Realtor, afternoon host on KOA from 3-5pm and continues to fill in anchor, report and work on special projects with 9News. Believe it or not, the combination gives her great flexibility to enjoy a lot of time with her family. Susie's married to Mike and they have two children, Justin and Samantha.
