Announcements and Meetings:
The student council will be organising and running the Disco on Friday 12 June as the Police no
longer do the Blue Light Discos and haven’t any equipment.
There will be a book sale on the same night just before the disco so if parents want some great
books for children and adults then please see Mrs Guelfi.
On Friday at Padbury, I attended the final training to qualify as a tutor for the on line course
“Dyslexia and Other Significant Reading Difficulties”. This has been a very valuable course and
has given me access to a range of quality resources and assessments for children who are
struggling with aspects of reading.
Thank you to Mr O’Nions who has completed a huge amount of work on the documentation for
our Canberra Camp application and planning. This documentation has to be with the Minister 6
weeks before the planned camp so I would request that parents send in all the necessary forms as
soon as possible.
Fun Run:
On Friday 15th May at 2:00pm, the whole school participated in a fun run. The students asked
their family and friends to sponsor them for the day to raise money for school camp. A huge thank
you to Helen Steicke who set up the courses, created cards for the students to stamp each lap and
played the awesome tunes!
The K/P/1/2 students had an 80m course filled with obstacles and the 3-7 students ran 150m
laps. Well done to Elise Walker and Fletcher Cugley who ran more laps than anyone in their
group. At the end of the day all the students recieved an icy pole as a reward for their great effort.
The day was a great success, thank you to everyone who sponsored us and made the day possible.
We are looking forward to seeing how much money we raised and what prizes we can get.
Can the students please bring in their sponsor forms and money collected this
week.

Boogie Roos Visit
Well done Newdegate kids
“I had the immense pleasure of meeting and entertaining the children of Newdegate this morning as part of
Boogie roos, which also included the very beautiful children from Kindy/Pre-primary. I was absolutely
blown away with how amazingly well behaved they were. Not only were they well behaved, but
extremely responsive to the programme I offered.
Such a credit to their teacher and to the school.
Thank you so much for allowing them to come and sharing the experience with me. I look forward to a
repeat performance in Week 7 or 8.”
Kind regards
Sandra Bennett
