Welcome!
Prayer is a key practice to our life with God. This month we continue
to look at what Jesus taught us about prayer and this morning we
focus on praying for God's kingdom to come. John Calvin taught the
kingdom comes in two ways: by the Spirit correcting our desires and
through the Word of God which shapes our thoughts. Our
expectation this morning is our time together will align our desires
and thoughts with those of our Creator and Lord.
If you are visiting today we are glad you are here! Whether you
come with questions and curiosity about Christianity or are looking
for a church to call home we would like to get to know
you. Come by the info desk in the lobby to get more information
about New Life, ways to get connected to our community, and to
learn more about the many opportunities to grow in your Christian
life.

“Praying for the Kingdom”
Prayer Focus—Meredith and Sandy Elder
Ron Lutz, preaching
Matthew 6:9-13
April 26, 2015
Meredith and Sandy Elder serving with Serge in Philadelphia.
Praise:
 Meredith had a very good trip to Kenya in late March; good connections
with Serge East Africa team leaders.
 Meredith has a great -- and growing -- Member Care staff at Serge.
We continue to have opportunities for Gospel Mentoring.
Please Pray:
 That Sandy and Meredith would grow in their faith relationship with
Christ so that, as they care for people, mentor and counsel, that would be done
in God's wisdom.
 As they mentor, for good rapport with those mentored and for real growth
(not just for those being mentored, but for Sandy and Meredith, too!)
 That Meredith would care well for several Serge staff in difficult situations
(such as the team evacuated from South Sudan).
 For the Spirit to work through GriefShare at New Life (which Sandy helps
lead) to encourage people to go to Christ for help and healing.
 Joshua graduates in May. Please pray for him to find a job he likes.
Outreach
Resurrection Offering. We are thankful to report that $48,281 were donated
to our offering this year for local and international ministries impacting the
poor and needy. Praise God for his generosity and thanks to you all for giving.
Prayer of Belief: Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I
ever before believed, but, through you, I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared
hope. I thank you for paying my debt, bearing my punishment and offering
forgiveness. I turn from my sins and receive you as Savior. Amen.
Conversation Cafe. April 29 at 7-8:30pm. This is our last opportunity for
this year. Help teach English to immigrants at Northeast just by having a
conversation. Make a friend and share your life with someone else. Contact
Laurel Kehl for more information.
