Subject: Implementation of Crop Diversification Programme (CDP) in Original Green
Revolution States, a sub scheme of RKVY, during the year 2015-16- Preparation of
Annual Action Plan - regarding
Sir,
As a result of enhanced allocation available with the states on account of implementation
of recommendations of 14th Finance Commission, the central allocation for CDP has been
reduced to Rs. 250 crore. Therefore, it is provisionally proposed that CDP would be
implemented with sharing pattern of 50:50 between Central and State with effect from 2015-16
in order to ensure that the investment in agriculture does not go down. States are requested to
provide required State share in their budget of 2015-16. State wise allocations including states'
share is as below:

* Rs. 65.50 crore Central Share IS already available and no fund release will be
required during the year and State will formulate programme for allocated funds.

While preparing the Action Plan for 2015-16, it may kindly be ensured that the physical
targets proposed by the State are realistic, based on area for a particular crop taking into
consideration the past performance to avoid frequent change, the financial outlays should be in
accordance with norms and rates of assistance prescribed.

While proposing the interventions under site-specific activities, it may kindly be ensured
that only those activities are included for assistance, which are helpful in diversification of paddy
area.

For preparing the Action Plan of 2015-16, kindly refer to letter of even no. dated 4th
February, 2015 through which templates and allocation for different interventions have been
forwarded (copy enclosed).

I am directed to convey that Crop Diversification Programme (CDP), a sub
scheme of R...ZVY, will be continued during 2015-16 as per existing guidelines.
State Governments are requested to start preparing .A.. . y. .lIlual Action Plan of CDP
for the year 2015 -16 in templates enclosed assuming allocation for 2014-15 as
tentative allocation for 2015-16. The actual allocation for 2015-16 will be
comml;lnicated as soon as it is approved.

4. The Programme will be implemented in districts having paddy area more
than 50000hectare and demonstrations of alternate crops will be done only to
replace paddy in kharif season.
