Selma to Montgomery
marches
This year marks the fiftieth anniversary
of the Selma-to-Montgomery marches—
the generation-defining events that led
to the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights
Act. Like the right to vote, health care
is a fundamental civil right that must be
supported by the skilled hands and civic
minds of concerned community leaders. The
Affordable Care Act has strengthened health
rights across our nation, just as it has built a
foundation for health equity.
