Dry fats – pure energy for higher yield

Dry fats – pure energy for higher yield
ELBE DF 100 PT-PV and ELBE DF 100 PT-LB, are rumen-stable
triglycerides based on refined palm oil. ELBE DF 100 PT-LB
contains 3-5% of valuable lecithin which is not only essential
for the formation of biomembranes and other cell
components but also enhances the digestibility of fats from
the ration as a whole due to its emulsifying effect. Being a
source of readily available choline, lecithin is of great
importance for metabolic processes, particularly for the lipid
metabolism of the liver. The sum of these properties makes
the fat attractive for use in the feeding of monogastric
animals, too.
Fats with their gross energy content of approx. 39 MJ/kg are
the most important energy store and energy supplier for the
feeding of farmed animals. Their energy density is more than
twice the one found in proteins and carbohydrates (17.2 MJ/
kg). Dry fats are stable on storage and are easy to handle.
The special properties of our dry fats allows their use in
energy-rich rations for high-yielding cows.
Benefits of rumen-protected fats:
• Highly digestible source of energy
• Supply of energy geared to actual needs
• Stabilisation and increase of milk yield
• Securing and partly increasing the milk fat content
• Enhancement of fertility
• Prevention of metabolic disorders
Rumen-protected dry fats
Protection of the rumen is ensured by the fact that saponified
fats can be split and made absorbent only under acidic
conditions in the way they prevail in the abomasum.
ELBE DF CaSo / MEGALAC® is our saponified fat and a
popular and proven dry fat classic of the latest generation
with outstanding homogeneity and structure to increase the
energy density and thus the milk yield in cattle. This
rumen-protected fat shows a particularly well balanced fatty
acid spectrum. In comparison to other dry fats, the high
percentage of easily digestible oleic acid and linoleic acid
should be noted.
Rumen-stable dry fats
ELBE DF 1680 WB, ELBE DF 100 PT-PV and ELBE DF 100 PT-LB
are spray-dried, fractionated fats of the latest generation,
the melting point of which has been raised to min. 53 °C
without hardening. These fats are rumen-stable and are
absorbed only in the small intestine, the actual place of fat
digestion. In contrast to hardened fats that contain approx.
50% of indigestive stearic acid (C18:0) due to the very
process, the percentage of this adverse fatty is clearly
reduced to below 10%. Hardening-induced trans-fatty acids
and catalyst residues (nickel) are no longer relevant for fats
of the latest generation either.
FLAXPRO® is a unique combination of rumen protection and
energy with the sought ingredients (Ω-3 fatty acids) of
opened linseeds. The latter have a particularly positive
impact on the fertility of milk cows and for the stabilisation of
the immune system. A 15% percentage of crude protein
further enhances the protein supply of the animal population.
ELBE DF 1680 WB is a vegetable fatty acid with a high
percentage of palmitic acid which is also the main
component of milk fat. It is characterised by excellent fluidity
and miscibility with a neutral smell and is used in rations
with high energy needs for high-yielding cows.
