The biennal festival NODE – Forum for Digital Arts gathers
creative coders, digital artists and creatives of the digital media
scene since 2008.
NODE aims to foster a critical reflection within the creative
coding scene and to support the creation of an innovative and
responsible movement by encouraging new collaboration,
interdisciplinary exchange and open knowledge sharing.
The main idea of the Forum is to empower individuals by
encouraging them to experiment and prototype. This way,
they are enabled to develop new ideas, to pose new questions

The 4th edition of NODE15 Forum for Digital
Art is devoted to the negotiation of the body in
fusion with technology, to the integral role of
the body in processes of perception, and to the
body as location of implicit knowledge.
NODE15 is dedicated to the negotiation of the human body throughout the current
technological developments and highlevel technologies. How is this being expressed
in our projects, utopias, and fictions? We will talk about the integral role of the body in
processes of perception and interaction; as location of implicit knowledge, and as a tool
we constantly try to extend and optimize.

When observing recent design developments we may assume that all is directed to an ideal state of
complete seamlessness. We see the virtualisation and dematerialisation of anything that is bound to
decay. Design is focussed on the creation of intelligent surroundings which free us from any physical
effort. Virtual reality devices can take us to any virtual space and time in a complete disembodied manner.
Critical tasks such as health and mental care are being undertaken by robots and wars are being fought
by remotely controlled drones. Roles formerly performed by human beings have undergone a process of
disembodiment. We have reached a critical point and have to wonder if this process has started to run
independently from actual human needs and nature. And in fact, we find spheres in which the body silently
reclaims the attention it deserves. NODE15 focuses on this revival of the body.
Amin Weber - No Time to Fly Adaption
The festival will address the relation of body and consciousness in the interdependent evolution of
humankind and technology. It starts from the gradual incorporation of instruments and processes into the
body. Gadgets and algorithms optimize our daily life while some people are morphing into what may be
named a cyborg.
NODE15 invites projects that investigate how these processes shape our perception and consciousness;
how they alter communication and interaction. During NODE15 coders, artists, scientists and developers
will quarrel with the question which significance to give to our flesh and shell called body.

WORKSHOPS
NODE15 offers six days packed with workshops
around vvvv and the creative use of technology
curated by the vvvv group. The workshops are
the central platform for discussing, teaching and
sharing knowledge.
There are introductory level courses for
beginners, advanced topics for people already
familiar with vvvv and some hardcore hacking
stuff to bleed out even those who think they
already know everything.
