On-Site Camping:
Camping is permitted for participants on the grounds of the Nepean Sailing Club during the NOD
2015. Tent locations will be in the North East (Adult) and North West (Youth) corners of the yard
on the grass areas around the Youth Pavilion. An area in the yard has been set aside for any RVs,
Tent trailers etc. near power and water. Volunteers in the yard will be on hand to direct where to
drop off any camping equipment for arriving visitors. Spots are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
NEW THIS YEAR: To avoid security issues with visitors wedging the gate open to access the boat
yard, we have implemented a free security pass option for visitors. Please request a pass for your
crew when you pick up your registration kit. The pass card will grant access to the yards and
bathrooms (only if locked by accident) throughout the event. Cards will be automatically disabled
after the event. Feel free to return to the NOD volunteers so we can recycle them.
See the 2015 NSC NOD Yard & Launch Plan in Appendix B for locations.
Launch & Storage:
Dinghy Trailers may be dropped off in the Dinghy Park at the North end of the yard near the Youth
Pavilion and launched by hand each day using the Dinghy launch ramps.
Keelboats will be launched at the North-end Crane until 23:00 on June 19 as per the Notice of Race.
A volunteer team will be on hand in the NSC yard on June 19 to assist visiting boats with launch,
equipment drop-offs, and trailer storage. Dedicated space in the secure NSC yard will be provided for
trailer storage during the regatta
See the 2015 NSC NOD Yard & Launch Plan in Appendix B for locations.
Parking:
Ample on-site parking is available for cars and vehicles just outside the NSC clubhouse grounds and
yard.
Due to space restrictions and to allow for extra visiting boats, equipment, and dedicated parking for the
Able-Sailors, yard parking in the designated areas (eg. Dinghy sail) during the NOD regatta weekend will
be significantly limited. NOD participants are strongly encouraged to park outside the yard after dropping
off any equipment/boats if need be.
Any parking in access ways or in front of Trailer Launch boats (as indicated in the yard by yellow ropes)
is strictly prohibited and will be enforced if necessary.
Visitor Keelboat Mooring:
Docking space will be provided at the NSC visitor's docks area in front of the clubhouse for visiting
club keelboats. Boats will be rafted up together. DO NOT LEAVE BOATS IN THE SERVICE
DOCKS.
See the 2015 NSC NOD Yard & Launch Plan in Appendix B for locations.
Repair Facilities & Chandlery:
There is a NSC club workshop in the yard with some tools and machining equipment for those minor
repairs. The local marine chandlery, ‘The Chandlery’ www.thechandleryonline.com is a short 10
minute drive away for those last minute parts and supplies.
