Dear Parent/Carer,
Reminder of Leaving Arrangements
The commencement of students only attending for their timetabled revision sessions and
their own examinations is Monday 8TH June. The final leaving date for Y11 is Friday 26th
June after the leaver’s assembly (see below.)
Uniform Reminders
Please can I ask for your support to ensure that your child continues to attend each day in
full school uniform:
Boys – Black trousers, white shirt, school tie, school jumper and/or school blazer.
Girls – Long black skirt (below the knee in length) or new grey school skirt, white
shirt/blouse, school tie, school jumper and/or school blazer.
Hair colour should be of a natural colour and not dyed into bright or unnatural colours.
May I remind you SUMMER UNIFORM is NO LONGER PERMITTED.
Leavers’ hoodies can be worn to and from school but they are not to be worn in lessons,
Examinations or timetabled revision sessions.
Arrangements for Leavers’ Assembly – FRIDAY 26TH June 9A.M.-10.45A.M. (Starts at
9:15 prompt)
Students should arrive in full school uniform (as listed above), they should report straight
to the main school hall for 9A.M. They should refrain from the signing of shirts until
after the assembly. The students will have to leave the school site prior to break time
(11.10 a.m.) as the wider school will be continuing the day as normal.
The Leavers Assembly (and the Prom) are invitation only events and will be used as a means
of rewarding students who have worked with Northfield staff well during this academic year
and will be a celebration of their contributions to the School for the past five years.
Communication to those NOT invited to leavers’ assembly will be made via telephone call or
personal letters to those students who have not behaved or attended as expected during the
examination period.
PROM arrangements – WEDNESDAY 1ST JULY
On the evening itself, students can be dropped off at the school between 6p.m. and 6.30p.m.
before boarding the bus at 7p.m. which will then take them to Wynyard Hall. This gives the
students the opportunity to take large group photos or family and friends photos if they
wish to. There will also be non-alcoholic welcome drinks available for students and parents.
The prom is due to finish at 11p.m. and the students will then be delivered directly back to
the school where they can be collected unless alternative arrangements have been made.
Please can we request that no child is collected directly from Wynyard Hall as it is
difficult to make sure that all students are safely accounted for after the event has
finished.
Results day arrangements
Results will be available to collect from the Main Hall on Thursday 20th August 2015.
Pupils can either
a) Visit the school between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon to collect their own results slips
OR
b) Leave a stamped addressed envelope with Miss Smith, Examinations Officer if they
cannot come to school to collect their own results
Please note that the morning when results arrive is a very busy time and telephone calls
tend to delay the process of distribution. Results will not be given to pupils or any other
person by telephone, nor will they be posted on the front door of the school. Parents or
other individuals collecting results on behalf of a pupil will only be given them if written
authorisation giving permission for the school to release the results is given by the pupil
concerned. The person collecting the results will also need to bring some form of
identification.
