Anglesea to 8th Ave. Monday and Thursday 9th Ave. to 17th Ave. Tuesday & Friday 18th Ave. to 26th Ave. Wednesday & Saturday Convenience Center 511 West Oak Avenue Open Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. **ONLY HOUSEHOLD TRASH & RECYCLABLES WILL BE ACCEPTED** DO NOT LEAVE TRASH AFTER CLOSING Violators will be prosecuted! Bulk Trash ● One (1) bulk item may be put out for collection on each scheduled trash day. 1 piece of furniture, or 1 room’s worth of carpet, rolled and bound not more than 4’ long, or 1 set of box spring and mattress White Goods, Computers, and Consumer Electronics ($20 fee per item) ● Arrangements must be made through the City Clerk’s Office 522-2030 ext. 1400 White goods include: Washer/Dryer, Stoves, Hot Water Heaters, Air Conditioners, Refrigerators (remove doors), Heaters (gas, oil, etc.) *Electronics: same regulations as white goods—$20 fee and pickup arrangements through Clerk’s Office. Electronics include: televisions, microwaves, computer central processing units, monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners and fax machines. These items may be taken to the MUA Transfer Station located on Shunpike Road in Burleigh (first right after Home Depot). Call the MUA at 465-5004. At the MUA there is a charge of $10 for air conditioners and refrigerators or any item containing Freon. Rules and Regulations for Trash & Recycling Programs 1. CURBSIDE TRASH MUST BE IN CONTAINERS WITH LIDS Trash may be placed in plastic bags; however, all trash must be placed in metal or plastic trash containers with lids at a maximum weight of 50 lbs. per container. Containers may not exceed 96 gals. Trash and recyclables must be at curbside by 7 a.m. on collection days. They may be placed curbside after 5 p.m. on the day before collection day. Cans must be removed by 5 p.m. on the day of collection. NO BUSINESS OR DWELLING UNIT MAY EXCEED A MAXIMUM OF TWO 96 GALLON CONTAINERS OR THEIR EQUIVALENT AT ANY ONE COLLECTION ******************** 2. SINGLE STREAM RECYCING INFORMATION Plastic, steel, tin, aluminum, glass containers, cardboard, magazines, Newspapers and other paper shall be placed in one recycling container. NO TRASH IS TO BE PLACED IN RECYCLING CONTAINERS. PLASTIC BAGS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO HOLD ANY RECYCLABLE ITEMS. ******************** 3. YARD WASTE Grass Clippings: dispose of along with your household trash. Put in trash bags and put the bags in trash cans for collection. Do not put grass out loose in a trash can by itself. Yard Waste: the Department of Public Works offers a dumpster at the Convenience Center, 511 W. Oak Ave. in Anglesea. You may bring this type of yard waste and put it in the dumpster for disposal. Do not use plastic bags since this dumpster can take only biodegradable material. Also do not dump dirt or stumps in this dumpster. Either dump the debris from a can or have it packed in paper recycle bags. 4. RECYCLABLE ITEMS COLLECTED BY PUBLIC WORKS Place curbside on the first trash day of the week. Metal: copper, iron, sheet metal, aluminum, radiators, structural steel, and metal pipe. Rigid Plastics: kids toys, big wheel bikes, etc. Tree Branches: they must be cut to no more than 4 feet long and bundled with rope or electrical tape. Put them next to your trash on the first trash day of the week. Public Works employees will collect them. Questions?
