Northwood 2015 Tennis Camp for Ages 5-18
Our professional staff will group participants based upon
age and ability into the following groups:
PLAYERS UNDER 10 YEARS OLD
We follow the USTA 10 & Under format, utilizing smaller courts
and age appropriate tennis balls. These players work on
developing technique, accuracy and overall athleticism in
a fun, and focused environment.
BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE PLAYERS
Less experienced players that are older than 10 focus on
developing sound fundamentals, movement and receiving
skills. These players learn to rally and participate in
competitive situations.
ADVANCED PLAYERS

Session 1: June 22 –June 25 Session 5: July 20 - July 23
Session 2: June 29 –July 2
Session 6: Aug 3 - Aug 6
Session 3: July 6 - July 9
Session 7: Aug 10 - Aug 13
Session 4: July 13 - July 16
Session 8: Aug 17 - Aug 20
Our advanced players focus on skill development,
technique, patterns of play and strategy. These players
focus on competition-based play ranging from full matches
to match situational drills.
During supervised breaks with a dedicated activities
coordinator, players will eat lunch, engage in age
appropriate activities and socialize with other players of a
similar age.
MEET THE COACHES
Matt Potts
Northwood Tennis Director Matt Potts is certified as
a Tennis Professional by the United States
Professional Tennis Association (USPTA). He has
over 20 years of teaching experience and has
guided numerous players to district, sectional and
national rankings. Matt played number 1 singles
and doubles for Lehigh University, where he was
team captain, and Patriot League All-Star.
Jermaine Smith
Jermaine had an ATP professional world ranking in
both singles and doubles. He was a finalist of the
2011 US Open Playoffs. Jermaine has represented
Jamaica in the Davis Cup for over ten years in the
number one position. In 2006, he was also an
assistant coach to the Jamaican Davis Cup team.
