LANGUAGE LEARNING RESOURCE COMMITTEE SLP MEMBER Primary Objectives of the Committee expand Expressive Cafes to different areas of the province create a plan for services in the community for people living with aphasia have regular group activities for people with aphasia co-ordinate events with Communication Committee Requirements meets provincial requirements to practice as an SLP in Nova interest in supporting individuals with aphasia ability to commit to participate reliability Responsibilities using facilitative communication techniques, facilitators support members of the Expressive Café during conversation and activities Training orientation and training will be provided for volunteers need for specific training will be identified in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator Time Commitment the Halifax EC is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 7:00 – 9:00 pm FINANCIAL COMMITTEE MEMBER Primary Objectives of the Committee support the Bord of Directors on financial matters work with committees with submission of funding requests work with chartered accountant with filing of taxes Responsibilities actively participate in committee meetings participate in pursuing the objectives of the committee individual responsibilities to be determined after discussion with Chair Time Commitment: monthly committee meeting (2 hours) involvement in committee
