At a minimum, a lacrosse stick is required to attend this camp. Those without full equipment will receive basic skill training and introduction to lacrosse. The camp provides an introduction to basic offensive and defensive fundamental skills by the Northview girls’ basketball staff including the varsity players. Daily sessions will include instruction, demonstration, and the practice of proper techniques for shooting, passing, dribbling, defensive stance & shuffling, and guarding the ball. The camp features contests involving the execution of the learned fundamentals. Offensive and defensive team concepts will be introduced in which campers will be able to practice in scrimmage situations but most of all we will be having FUN!!! Director: Brian Hendricks, Northview Head Varsity Coach, staff, and Girls High School Players Camp Dates: Monday through Thursday, June 15 - June 18 Time: 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Cost: $35 (price includes one camp T-shirt) Location: High School Large Gym (4451 Hunsberger NE) Girls Upper Elementary/Middle School Basketball Summer Camp (Grades 5 - 8) This camp, instructed by the Northview girls’ basketball staff and varsity players, is for beginners along with youth interested in extending their learning and skill development for the game of basketball. The camp provides an introduction and reinforcement for more advanced campers of the basic offensive and defensive fundamentals. Daily sessions include instruction, demonstrations, and the practice of proper techniques for shooting, dribbling, passing, defensive stance & shuffling, guarding the ball, and defending away from the ball. The camp features contests involving the execution of the learned fundamentals. Offensive and defensive philosophies and team concepts will be introduced in which campers will be able to practice in scrimmage situations. This camp will introduce skills and concepts campers should know to help make a middle school team. The focus will be on proper techniques of dribbling, shooting, passing, and defending. Player’s age and ability level will be used to divide players into developmental groups as needed. Technical training in setting, passing, hitting, serving along with live game play will be introduced and practiced daily. Offensive and defensive philosophies of the middle school and high school program will be introduced and emphasized. Camp will involve intense technical training in all areas of the game, supplemented with a lot of game play. Northview's offensive and defensive philosophies will be taught and practiced. Director: Katie Psaute, Northview Head Varsity Volleyball Coach Camp Dates: Monday, June 8 – Thursday, June 11 Time: 11:30a.m. – 1:30p.m. Cost: $50 (price includes one camp T-shirt) Location: Crossroads Middle School/Gym 8 2015 Northview Wildcats Speed, Agility, & Quickness Camp All Athletes Grades 7-12 Session meets 8:00am-9:00am & 9:15am-10:15am Cost: $65 INCLUDES DRI-FIT T-SHIRT Must register before May 29th to guarantee T-shirt All athletes (male & female) regardless of sport are welcome to participate. The purpose of this camp is to enhance the speed & agility of Northview athletes. The camp will be held on 13 dates in the Stadium. Varsity and Junior Varsity Athletes will meet at 7:45am & all other student athletes will meet at 9:15am. The camp will be highly structured and includes a *pre-test & **post-test. Every camper will have access to their results. There will be no weather make-ups. There will be over ten stations that each athlete will circulate through, at least once per session. Stations involve plyometrics, bounding, reaction drills, form running, resisted running, and various other speed / agility exercises. As always, new exercises will be incorporated to keep the drills new and full of enthusiasm. Please make sure your son/daughter has cleats for sessions.
