Duramune® Max 5 is recommended for the vaccination of healthy
dogs against diseases caused by canine distemper, adenovirus type 1
(hepatitis), adenovirus type 2 (respiratory disease), parainfluenza,
and parvovirus. Parvovirus (“Parvo”)is a disease that causes severe
bloody diarrhea, vomiting and often death. It is very common in
Hawaii. Parvo is spread through contact with vomit and diarrhea of
infected dogs. Your dog does not need direct contact with a dog
carrying “Parvo” to become infected. For example, your dog could
contract “Parvo” from simply walking on grass that an infected dog
walked on up to 2 weeks prior. We highly recommend not taking
puppies to parks, beaches and other public places until fully vaccinated.
Leptovax 4 is a vaccination for healthy dogs, six weeks of age or
older, as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by Leptospira
canicola, Leptospira grippotyphosa, Leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae andLeptospira pomona. Leptospirosis is very common in
Hawaii. Dogs can pick up “Lepto” from swimming in contaminated
water with open cuts or sores. However, in Hawaii they are more
likely to get “Lepto” by drinking from puddles around your
neighborhood or in your own yard

vaccine is for one of the components of kennel cough, which
spreads very easily from dog to dog through the air. We suggest this
vaccination if your dog comes in close contact with other dogs. This

Microchips are for both dogs and cats. It is inserted by an injection
beneath the surface of your pets skin between the shoulder blades.
The process is similar to a routine shot and takes only a few seconds. The microchip is about the size of a grain of rice (12mm). A
microchip is read by passing a microchip scanner over the pets
shoulder blades. The scanner emits a low radio frequency that provides the power necessary to transmit the microchips unique cat or
dog ID code and positively identify your pet.
