As the Planning Director for the Metropolitan Transportation
Commission, since July 2012, Ken Kirkey is the agency’s lead staff
for the implementation of SB 375 and development of Plan Bay
Area, the region’s Sustainable Communities Strategy and Regional
Transportation Plan.
Before joining MTC, Ken was the Planning & Research Director
with the Association of Bay Area Governments where he oversaw
the consensus-based process for developing the Bay Area’s regional
blueprint plan (also known as the FOCUS Program) for over 150
transit-served infill Priority Development Areas and more than
100 Priority Conservation Areas.
Ken has 20 years of experience related to regional land use and
transportation planning. Prior to joining ABAG he worked in the
public, private, and non-profit sectors working on specific plans,
general plans, growth management strategies and bicycle and pedestrian master plans in the Bay Area and the Central Valley.

In order to fund our annual educational grants, we will be offering Meeting Sponsorships to two attendees per meeting. The Meeting Sponsorship costs is $250 and entitles the firm, a logo placement in our
